Dear Judy and family;
Our deepest condolences on Dave’s passing. We thoroughly enjoyed his sense of humour and engagement during the times in his company. We were out of the country until Saturday, May 26th and only learned today of his passing.
Thinking of you all;
Mary and Bruce

Judy, Kim, Sean, Mrs. Power, Kevin, Carol, and Doreen,

Sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. Dave was a great guy on Larch Place and he was a guy who all the younger guys of Larch Place looked up to.

I played some soccer with Kevin and grew up on the street with Dave. Though I was younger then Dave I remember admiring Dave’s athleticism in both hockey, soccer, and softball. I remember watching Dave playing with the St. John’s Caps and the infamous 1975 series with the Barrie Flyers. I remember Dave being one of the guys on that team that could score and also fight and Dave was one of the first guys off the bench during the bench clearing brawl at the Stadium. The last time I brought that story up with Dave was just after his father’s funeral and we said the next time we meet we would have a beer together. Dave keep a cold one ready for me when i come up.

Dave Power a great guy, God Bless Dave!

The little we knew David leave us with nothing but pleasant memories. His hearty laugh to go hand and hand with his sense of humour. We are happy to have known him. Our sincere condolences to Suzanne and her family for their loss.

I was very sorry to hear that Dave was taken from you all so soon. Haven’t seen Dave in quite a while. We went to school together at St Bon’s . He was a great guy and we were always friends. He will no doubt be sadly missed. Sorry again for your loss. Kind regards. Liam Halley.

Our sincere condolences go out to the Power family at this very trying time. Since attending kindergarten with Kevin in 1969 I have had the pleasure of knowing Dave for many years. He was certainly a very kind hearted soul who always took the time to have a chat and share a good story. He always held his family in high regard and would carry that pearcing smile with him everywhere. It was a true pleasure to have met such a good man. Your memory will last forever Dave. R. I. P my friend. Jeff Purcell and Connie Fleming

Dave and I went through schools together, he was always a real gent. After many years we caught up again at an alumni function… he was still a real gent.
My sincere condolences to his family..

To David’s family;
I am so sorry to learn of Dave’s passing. From Little League baseball and minor hockey; David always made a person feel special; whenever he greeted you. The years that had passed never meant anything; he always made one feel as good a friend as when we were kids. He always had that sparkle in his eyes. Your family is my heart and prayers at this difficult time. God BLess!

With great sadness, I read in today’s obituaries, that David Power passed away after a long battle with leukemia. David was one of forty grade nine boys in my mathematics and homeroom class (Room# 102) at Gonzaga High School St. John’s,1966 -67 – my very first time teaching in an all Boy’s School. They were a very bright group of boys, challenging, lively, but David stood out. He was a good student, but he was the one that made us all laugh, reminded us at the end of the day to congratulate ourselves because “we were so good”, what sports activity was happening after school or in the evening, and was I going to be there to see him.
I met David again in grade 11 and taught him algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. Oh yes, we did mathematics as three subjects at that time – long time ago now. We had both grown but again with a class of forty boys, many of them repeaters, I knew David was not only my student who wanted to do his best but he was my friend.
I enjoyed our conversations over the years and extend my deepest condolences to his family. May your memories give you peace and comfort.
David, may you rest in peace. I keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Kevin and family sending heartfelt condolences on the passing of your wonderful brother
