Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of E. Jean Pike (Thistle) on November 7, 2019, age 86.

She leaves with love and cherished memories, her devoted husband Bernard of 66 years, their two children, daughter Lynda Morgan (Reg) and son David Pike (Debbie). “Grandma” was so proud of her five treasured grandchildren – Taylor Lynn Morgan (Chad), Christopher Morgan (Shawntelle), Tim Pike (Jenna), Brittany O’Keefe (Jamie) and Diandra Pike (Justin), as well as her five great grandchildren – Olivia, Ava, Chad & Christopher Kinden and Luke O’Keefe.

Jean will be lovingly remembered by her special brother Alex who resided with her,  as well as sisters Sandra Thistle and Noreen Borassa, sisters-in-law – Patsy Youden, Ruth Laird and Alfreda Pike, also many other relatives and friends – especially dear friends in her bridge club of many years.

Jean is predeceased by her parents Clara & Alexander (Sandy) Thistle, parents-in-law Harold & Marion Pike and brothers-in-law Sidney Pike, Walter Youden and Glen Laird.

At Jean’s request cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends may visit the family at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Sunday, November 10,  from 2 – 8 pm.  A service will be held at St. James United Church on Monday, November 11, 2019 at 2 pm followed by a reception in the church hall. Dear Lynda and Sandra, I am so sorry to hear of Jean’s passing. I realize she had not been well but it is still difficult to lose a loved one. I am so glad we had the opportunity to visit her at Salmonier this past summer. She was a good neighbor and I appreciated her keeping me informed when I was not at the cottage. My thoughts go to Bern who will miss her terribly after their many years together. With my deepest sympathy Jeanette Walshl
