Passed peacefully away at the age of 97, surrounded by her loving family on July 25, 2021, Elizabeth O’Grady at her Kenny’s Pond Retirement Residence.

Betty was predeceased by her first husband, Randell Snow and her second husband, James O’Grady; also predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Elsie Harris; sisters, Evelyn Cooper and Frances Laba; brother, George Harris; son-in-law, Ralph Yetman; and daughter-in-law, Janie Snow.

Leaving to mourn with the most cherished and precious memories her loving family; son, Gregory Snow (Debi); daughters, Heather Snow and Leslie Snow (Jerry); grandchildren Jeni Yetman (Mike), Jilly Greene (Gerry), and Brent Kimball (Diane); great-grandchildren, Jayden Glover, Jake Glover, Rylan Glover, Addy Greene, Shawn Greene, Bella Kimball, and Maddy Kimball; and a wonderful circle of nieces, nephews, and special lifetime friends.

Betty was blessed with a long, healthy life with many happy years living in New York and a wonderful retirement with her family in Newfoundland. Her home was always open to the many friends of her children and grandchildren and they always held a special place in her heart.

Betty will always be remembered for her kind and loving spirit and her wonderful sense of humour.  Although Betty will be sadly missed by her family and friends, their lives are forever enriched for having had the privilege of knowing her.

Betty’s family will be forever grateful for the loving care she received each and every day from all the staff at Kenny’s Pond. A very heartfelt thank you to nurses Keisha and Kelsey; Dr. Crocker and Dr. O’Shea; and all the second floor staff for their care and compassion shown to Betty and also her family this past week.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Wednesday, July 28th from 12-9. A funeral service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held from The Carnell Memorial Chapel on Thursday, July 29th at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.

Flowers are gratefully accepted, or a memorial donation may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
