It is with sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Franz Schinagl, at the age of 56, after a brief illness with cancer.

Leaving to mourn with fond and cherished memories are his loving parents Franz and Beatrice Schinagl; his beloved partner Rhonda Reddy and her children Ashley (Blair) and Kassie (Johnny); his pride and joy beloved son Carter Schinagl (Amanda); brother Scott Schinagl (Tina); sisters Lorraine Hodgson (Mark) and Linda Boland (Kevin). As well as nephews, Michael, Matthew, and David Hodgson and Jordan Boland as well as a wide circle of many friends. He will be missed by his fur companions Bunker and Fallon (Fi Fi).

Franz was a well-known, dedicated, and hard-working businessman in the community. It was his pursuit of entrepreneurship that constitutes his life’s legacy, as owner/operator of Supreme Auto Sales for over 25 years alongside his best friend and brother, Scott. Franz was surrounded by employees who shared in his passion and commitment to exceptional customer service. In his spare time, he loved golfing, hunting, fishing, and vacationing in Largo, Florida.

Franz shared a special bond with his son, Carter. They took time to nurture their relationship, and particularly loved to spend time together on the golf course. Franz was immensely proud of Carter’s accomplishments and strength of character, describing his son as an “impressive and strong man.”

Franz will be missed more than words can express. He is a soul gone way too soon. His sudden passing leaves an unimaginably large void in our lives.

Cremation has taken place.

Visitation will take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, April 30th following COVID-19 guidelines. The funeral service will be held at the Carnell Memorial Chapel at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 1st. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance at the funeral service is by invitation only, but will be live streamed for those unable to attend. The link will be available online at www.carnells.com.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Franz’s memory to the SPCA

Dear Carter,
Thinking of you at this sad time as you grieve the sudden passing of your Dad, a special person in your life. I can’t imagine how difficult this must be for you.

It was not so long ago that you experienced the loss of your brother, our darling Justin. Your Dad took time away from his work to be there for you and to give you his support as we all came together to remember and grieve.

With determination you remained focused on your path, and completed university studies. Your quiet confidence and disposition will help you again to face this immeasurable sadness in the loss of your Dad. In the journey of grief always remember Carter, we love you.

May you and the Schinagl Family treasure your memories and may they bring comfort and peace now and in the days ahead.

With Sympathy and blessings,
Love, Aunt Ruby
