Obituary
Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Complex on February 27, 2017, Fred Noseworthy in his 95th year. Predeceased by his wife Frances of 62 years and son in law Barron MacDonald. Survived by his daughter Nancy MacDonald; son Robert Noseworthy and his wife Corrie, Richmond, BC; grandchildren John MacDonald, Cochrane, AB, Andrew MacDonald, St. John’s NL, Charles Noseworthy, Victoria BC, Michael Noseworthy, Richmond BC, and Alex Noseworthy, Richmond, BC. Long time employee of NFLD Tractor and Equipment Co. In his early days in Grand Falls, he was active in the community and in drama. On returning to St. John’s he became active in the Kiwanis Club and the Kiwanis Music Festival. Fred was a long-time member of the Cochrane St. United Church and its choir. He enjoyed Music and the Newfoundland Symphony. The family will receive visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Wednesday July 12 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Interment to take place on Thursday July 13 at 10:30 a.m.

My deepest condolences on the passing of Mr. Noseworthy in February. I was not in town to attend the visitation recently to meet the family. I have wonderful memories of your dad as I grew up around Newfoundland Tractor. He always had a smile for me.

The passing of Fred Noseworthy is a great loss for our province. I’ve known him for many decades he always had time for a chat with a smile. He will be missed by many of us. Please accept my sincere sympathy on his passing, as I am sure he will be missed.
So sorry to hear of Mr. Noseworthy’s passing. It was always great to see him stop by twice a day for his coffee……first at10:00am and then around 3:00pm everyday over the past 15+ years!! Didn’t matter the weather, he wouldn’t miss it!

I am so very saddened to learn of Fred’s passing. He was, indeed, a fixture with the Kiwanis Music Festival, and I had the privilege of working with him on the Festival Committee for many years, and in the day-to-day running of the Festival each year as well. He was a stalwart by all measurements; a man of dedication and love for all things musical. He will be sorely missed, and I am so sorry for his loss.

Nancy Robert and family. I first met your father in 1947 when I had a summer job at the tractor company. We sang in Cochrane St choir. We enjoyed Kiwanis together. Both your parents were bridge partners with us on many occassions. Fred was most interested in Music so I have wondered how his passing was in the middle of the Kiwanis Music Festival. One has to wonder? We are in Florida and cannot visit with you but we have you in our thoughts and prayers . May your many happy memories bring you comfort at this time.

I have worked with Fred for many years with the Kiwanis Music Festival. I have always had a soft spot for Fred, My sincere condolences.
Most saddened by Fred’s passing. He was mentor and friend to the stamp and coin collecting fraternity. He had the uncanny ability to find the correct information on the image in the postcards he collected, which were dear to his and Frances hearts. Many an evening he would spend getting together with local stamp collectors talking about his favorite postcard from yesteryears. I sadly miss him. He was most enjoyable as a friend. My condolences.

I remember working with Mr. Noseworthy during my summer jobs at Nl Tractor. I certainly remember him as a character.
Fred was a character. I have great memories of him on the badminton court in Southcott Hall as well as family vacations and trips to Middle Gull Pond. His sense of humor and dry wit will be missed. My condolences to Nancy, Robert and family.
