Geoffrey Roy Decker passed peacefully away in Calgary in the presence of his children on December 13, 2019 in his 69th year after a short illness. Originally born in St John’s, Newfoundland he moved to Calgary nearly 20 years ago. Predeceased by his parents Roy and Nina (Blandford) Decker and brother, Paul Decker. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories, his three children Gillian (Jose Candido), Jonathan and Robert; mother of his children Gail Decker; grandchildren Ryder and Joee; and siblings Fredrick (Hilda), Judith (Anthony Dickinson), Susanne (Charles White), as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Also leaving to mourn his best friend Laurie Scarrow and her family, and his beloved dog Baxter. While growing up in St. John’s, Geoff attended Prince of Wales Collegiate and worked with Air Canada for 30 years, where he had many close friends. Geoff was generous, funny, kind-hearted, and loved warmer weather while perfecting his golf game. Geoff lived life to the beat of his own drum, he will be deeply missed. A celebration of Geoff’s life will take place in St. John’s at a later date.
Geoff and I sowed some wild oats together, although Geoff seemed to save some of the oats for later in life. A good friend greatly missed.

Please accept my condolences on the passing of your father. His sudden passing came as a shock and was a reminder of how frail life can be.
Geoff and I had been friends since high school. For over twenty years in Calgary, we’ve played many games of golf, definitely Geoff’s passion, met countless times for coffee (with Baxter in tow) to discuss world affairs and tell tall tales. He was always opinionated and that made him very entertaining.
I’ll miss him.
Gail , Gillian , Jonathan and Robert.,
I am thinking of you during this difficult time .

Gillian, Jonathan and Robert,
We are saddened to learn of your Dad’s passing – much too soon. We’re thinking of your Mom, too, at this sad time. We hope that memories of your Dad will comfort you. He made a lot of people laugh; no doubt he would want you to laugh, too, as you recollect on years past. We will be thinking of you in the days and weeks ahead.
