Obituary

Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at St. Lukes Home on Thursday, October 17, 2019, Gerald Fleming, aged 82 years. Predeceased by the love of his life, Jean, who we know was waiting for him with open arms.

Also predeceased by his parents, Jack Fleming, Mary Ryan and Margaret Ryan who raised Gerald, his sisters Irene Charana and Edith Fleming, son Johnny Fleming and grandson, Blair Davidson.

He leaves to mourn his son, Gerry (Sharon); daughters: Debbie Fleming (Mike), Barbara Ann Hogan (Brian) and Dianne Fleming (Randy); 8 grandchildren: Danielle, Steven, Bradley, Courtney, Maria, Corey, Mason and Rachel; 11 great grandchildren: Anna, Jacob, Madeleine, Oliver, Piper, Jax, Keiran, Xander, Tenleigh, Paisley and Kelsey; brothers: Doug, Vic, Tommy, Larry, Frankie, Billy, Bernie and Roy Fleming; sisters: Violet, Ruth and Alice and a large circle of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend a special appreciation to the Ryan and Taylor Families and to Tommy and Larry Ryan for their unconditional support and love shown to our “Dad” during his life. Also, a special thanks to the staff of Fairhaven and Angel Room at St. Lukes Homes.

 

Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Saturday, October 19th and Sunday, October 20th from 2-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 21st, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Teresa’s Church, Mundy Pond Rd. Cremation to follow. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Gerald’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

We want you to know our thoughts and prayers are with each and every one as we mourn the loss of Gerald. Even though some of live so far away, we can always remember how he could make you laugh no matter what the situation was. Take the time to reflect on the happy moments he brought to all. Gerald can now rest in peace and join his love of his life Jean where they can be together again.

We are so saddened by the loss of your Dad. We loved spending time with him at St Luke’s. He won our hearts from our first chat. His beautiful smile and gentle voice is remembered and cherished.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. My dad, who passed earlier this year, had tremendous respect and admiration for Mr. Fleming! They are now sharing stories in Heaven.

Sincere condolences to Barb, Brian & family, & Fleming families. Every time I met your Dad he always had a big smile & a hug. I remember how much fun he had at his 80th Birthday party & I was so appreciative to be part of that fun night. Rest In Peace with his wife. Hugs to all.

I am so very sorry to hear this sad news yesterday & I would like to send my deepest sympathy & condolences to you all (the Fleming family). Gerald was a very special man & we are forever blessed for him touching our lives. I have such special memories of him when we played darts with the Paradise league.
