Obituary

Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on January 22, 2019, Gordon Randell, aged 83 years. Predeceased by his parents Elizabeth and Charles Randell; sister Irene Domman (Len) and Brother Ralph Randell. Leaving behind with loving memories wife Nancy, of 59 years; children Barry Randell, Patricia (Carl) Harnum, Linda Randell (Michelle Baker) and Wanda Randell (Tony Sutton); grandchildren Bradley Randell, Justin and Jason (Deanne) Harnum; great granddaughter Hallie Harnum; siblings Hilda (Jim) Burt, Don (Betty) Randell, Sue (Peter-deceased) Robinson and Betty (Warrick) Kelly; sister in law Mabel Randell, close family member Daphne Miller; special friends Wilfred and Mamie Howell, Perry and Marion Abbott; many Florida friends, also, a number of other relatives and friends. A thank you to staff of the Emergency Room and 4 South A of the Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion shown towards Gordon during his time there. Visitation will take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Thursday January 24 and Friday January 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Saturday January 26 from Church of the Ascension at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Kenmount Road Anglican Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gordon’s memory may be made to The Health Care Foundation: Cardiac Care Unit.

He was a man that filled up a room especially his laugh. He will be missed very much, but remember he will always be there in your thoughts and in your heart. We were shocked and saddened to hear about the passing today of Gord. Our hearts are home with you all as you know he was a great friend for many years to us. We wish we could be there with you all as you share in the memories and good times you all had. We have many fond memories of the many times we spent together over the years and we’ll remember all the laughs we had during our camping trips and trips to Glenwood. We are so sorry to hear of Mr Randell’s passing. I will always remember him as a strong devoted and hard working man who loved keeping busy fixing or building what ever he could get his hands on. You were a pillar of strength Mr. Randell and an inspiration for all of us. You will be dearly missed.
