I was deeply saddened and heartbroken when I heard the news of the loss of Heather. She was my beloved friend, colleague and work Mom. I have so many fond memories of sitting around the coffee room at work and sharing the ups, downs and joys of life. Heather was always so positive and loved her family deeply. She was one of the angels here with us, always ready with words of encouragement. She will be missed by so many who loved her and whose lives she touched with her warm and generous spirit . I will be bringing her energy with me every time I smile at a friend, or stranger, and lend a helping hand, without judgment.

Heather was a sweet person who always went out of her way to make people feel warm and welcome. I had the pleasure of working with her at Eastern Health for some years, and will always remember the gift she gave me on my last day – a truly thoughtful gift that I will always treasure. I last spoke to her a few weeks ago online, and had know idea that would be the last time. I am truly saddened to hear this news and my sincerest condolences are sent to her family and friends.

Thinking of you, Ray, Stephen and Stacey and your families…..Heather was a darling woman and will be missed beyond measure…..Sincerely….Lorne and Kathy Messervey

Ray Stacey and Stephen, sorry to hear of Heather’s passing , remember her when ye guys would come to Buchans to visit Ray’s family , beautiful lady, thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time, Charlene and Rob.

Although I only knew Heather for such a short time (since starting at Eastern Health) I knew Heather to be a kind, caring, completely selfless soul.
My heartfelt condolences to her family. Heather will be greatly missed by everyone/anyone that ever met her.

Sincere condolences to Ray, Stacey and Stephen on the sudden passing of your beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Heather was a former colleague and I will always remember her talking proudly about her family and pets whom she dearly loved and cherished. She was a kind and gentle person, who will be fondly remembered by many who had the opportunity to have known her.

Ray, Stacey and Steven:

Heather was my co-worker as part of Policy and Program Development for about 10 years. She was one of the kindest people I have had the pleasure of knowing in my life. As mentioned by someone else, our coffee and lunch breaks never ended without an update on happenings in the lives of the love of her life, Ray, and her babies. Stacey and Steven, I lost my mother when she was only 57 years of age and I was a couple of years older than you guys. A friend gave me a card with a poem that I found very comforting. I had it printed and framed and read it morning and night for many years until I could recite it from memory. Heather’s passing brings it to mind and provides me comfort as it did when my mom passed away. It is my hope that it will also bring you comfort as you remember Heather as time passes for us on this earth without the presence of her gentle and loving soul.

I DID NOT DIE:
Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow;
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain;
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush;
I am the swift uplifting rush.
Of quiet birds in circled flight;
I am the soft star than shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there; I did not die.

Ray, Stephen and Stacey. So sorry to hear of Heathers passing. Cherish the memories.

Ray, Stacey and Steven I am shocked and saddened to hear of Heather’s passing. She was such a gentle soul, always giving – never taking. Eastern Health has truly lost a great one. No one was more proud of her family and it showed when she spoke about each of you. You could easily see she loved her life and her family. I know she is most proud of the precious little grandchildren you have both given her and she will be watching over you all with a smile on her face.

Ray and family. So sorry to hear of Heather’s passing. Thoughts and prayers are with you and yours. Cherish your memories.

Heather was the first smile to meet me every morning— in my time working with her, she was the most kind, loving and funny lady! She kept me in order and she was always ready to help! She was so proud to talk about her children and grandchildren. She shared many stories on the lengths she’d go for her kids (even driving on a winding road in the fog to drive the girls home from the bachelorette party ;). A beautiful lady, gone too soon from our world. Rest easy my friend- I will miss you incredibly. I’m so glad you got to hold Liam— you were so proud to share new-nanny news! Xo Michelle

Ray, Steven and Stacey. I am so sorry for your loss. One of the best taken far, far too early. I know you were the delight of her life. My condolences and prayers.

Steven & Stacey, our tea-breaks never ended without an update on what both of you are up to. We have never met but I feel I know you both from the years of ‘watching’ you grow up & become parents yourselves. My heart is shaken at the loss of Heather. Ray, she spoke of you as her rock & best friend. I am so sorry for your families loss. Heather, you are already missed by your EH family.. Who will turn the kettle on for us now. Rest easy my friend.
