Obituary
Howard John Hodder, passed peacefully away at home, aged 67. He is predeceased by parents John and Elizabeth Hodder, sister Greta Pevie, and brother Oliver Hodder.
He leaves to mourn, beloved niece Victoria Hodder, special family members Meta and Dave Hibbs, Aunt Selina Upshall, and many special nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Memorial service to be held at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Logy Bay Rd., on Tuesday November 24th, 2020 at 2:00 pm. If you wish to attend, please contact catforsey@hotmail.com. COVID-19 regulations apply.

I have known Howard and his family for years and shared many good times together. He was a good person and l am deeply saddened by his sudden passing. Rest well my friend.
Our condolences to Howard’s family. We have very fond memories of Howard at DFO. He was, quite simply, a good person, and we valued him as a friend. He had a cheerful supportive spirit and a wonderful sense of humour. Rest in Peace, Howard.

My condolences to Howard’s family. Howard was a colleague at DFO who I found to be kind, smart and very funny. When I think of him I’ll remember his Swedish Chef imitation that he would always greet me with ever since we worked together on an organizing committee for an international scientific conference held in St. John’s. He was one of a kind and will be missed.

He was a research assistant in my group for 25 years at DFO, always pleasant and a very very good technician who could work technical magic with small amounts of material. My condolences to Howard’s family. We trained together at then CTT and both started working at DFO on the same day. Our lab was in a trailer on the waterfront! We shared many growing pains and lots of laughs. We lost touch over the years but I have many fond memories of our time together. May he Rest In Peace.

I was so very saddened to hear of Howard’s passing today. My sincere condolences to all who loved him and frequented his company. Howard was one of the first people I met when starting at DFO in the late 90s. We quickly became friends; and besides being the best teacher of all things technical, we shared many lunches, stories and crossword puzzles up to his retirement. A mutual a love of cats also resulted in several related gifts from Howard that I cherish to this day. It was nice to be in touch with Howard on and off post his retirement although I missed him this last several years. The world has just lost a kind, funny and generous soul.
