Obituary

It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of James Joseph Bruce, on Thursday, May 13th, 2021, aged 62 years.

Predeceased by his son Jeremy James Bruce; his parents John and Bridget Bruce; sister Marion Pittman; sister-in-law Barbara Traverse; and father-in-law William Elliott; Uncle Jim Healey.

Leaving to mourn with broken hearts his best friend and wife, Margaret Bruce; brothers Pat (Lyn) Bruce, Dennis (Lorraine) Bruce, and John (Nancy) Bruce; sisters Beth (Jake) Hackett, Julie (Dave) Butler, Betty (Robbie), and Donna Culleton (Brian); mother-in-law Marg (Leo) Hayward; sisters-in-law Gail (Ed) Howe and Charlene (Paul) Penney; step mother-in-law Kathleen Elliott; brother-in-law Clifford Traverse; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Jim touched the hearts and lives of everyone he met or knew. He was a gentleman and always there to help anyone. Jim loved his gardening and took great pride in it. He will be forever in our hearts and missed by all…

Cremation has taken place. A private serviced to celebrate Jim’s life to be announced at a later date.

Margaret, I am so sorry to hear of Jim’s sudden passing. I knew Jim through Joan Parker and Cynthia and their family and first met him about 20 years ago. He was an awesome man who had a great sense of humour and would do anything for anybody especially if they had four legs.

My sincere and heartfelt sympathy of the death of your lovely husband, Jim. I was shocked and sadden to hear of Jim’s sudden death, as I had seen him on the property that day.
No words of mine can do justice to Jim Bruce – a good human being.

I first met Jim while working @ our Retreat House on Virginia Waters . Jim loved the land he tended so faithfully and lovingly and it was there that we would meet and chat.
