Obituary

Our hearts are heavy with sadness as we announce the sudden passing of Joan Elizabeth Fitzgerald on May 22, 2019, age 66. She was predeceased by her father Peter; mother Theresa; infant sister Margaret; father-in-law John and brother-in-law Glenn.  She will always be remembered and cherished by her daughters Kimberley (Earl), Kelly (Trevor) and her adored ex-husband Wayne. Her precious grandchildren Cassidy, Ashley, Bailey, Eryn and great granddaughter Alexa will forever love and miss their Nanny Joan.  She was also treasured by; her sisters Loretta (Blair), Genevieve (John), Christine, Maureen (Rendall), Kathleen (Chris),  Bridgette, and twin sister Julia; her brothers Peter (Gertie), Stephen (Donna), and Edward (Betty); brothers-in-law Kenneth (Daphne) and Hedley (Jeanette); sisters-in-law Glenda (Reg), Kim and a very special mother-in-law Freda.  She also leaves behind with wonderful memories a large circle of nieces, nephews and relatives. She was a beloved friend to many.  Joan had a very kind heart and a beautiful soul and she will be missed more than words can say.  Mom may you rest easy now and fly with the angels.

Cremation has taken place.   Relatives and friends may visit the family at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Sunday, May 26th, 2019 from 2 pm – 9 pm.  Funeral Service will be held at Mary Queen of Peace on Monday, May 27th, 2019 at 9:30 a.m.

 

Rest in the arms of the angels, you will find comfort there.
