To the family,
As I messaged to Roger on hearing the news of Joan’s passing, we are in disbelief. Joan and I were often mistaken for one another. We did not meet up often, but when we did it was with joy and full of memories. Please accept our sincere condolences.

Words do not describe adequately what a wonderful, compassionate, funny and warm person Joan was. Ed and I grew to know her and Ron over the past several years and she will be missed. Our condolences to Ron and the entire family.

I have had the pleasure of working with Joan for over ten years. During that time, she has been tireless champion for literacy. Joan will be sorely missed around the table at Teachers on Wheels.
