We the family of Joan Elizabeth Margaret Davis are saddened to announce the passing of our loving Mom, after a short but brave battle with cancer at the age of 74. Mom never wavered in her love and trust in God’s care throughout her illness.

Welcoming Mom home is our father Alexander Davis, our grandparents Dennis and Eleanor Tobin and her sister Phyllis, all of whom she missed dearly.

Left to remember her are her children John (Kim), Darlene, Jackie (George), Michael, Michelle (Jim), Bernard (Sebrina); her sisters Anna, Geraldine, Barbara and Wynnanne; her grandchildren Joseph, Joshua, Natasha, Morgan, James, Jordan, Maddison, Truman and William; her extended family Paddy and Isabelle O’Flaherty and Jennie Nurse; her friends at St Michael’s Church we thank you for your many calls, visits and treats – they really comforted Mom.  Also, her special friend Linda Yard without whom we would not have gotten through these last couple of months (we will always be grateful for you); and her two little constant companions, Flash and Daisy.

Special thanks to Dr. Seviour, Dr. Greenland, Dr. Rorke, and Dr. Dawe and to all the wonderful staff of the cancer clinic, emergency department, paramedics, palliative care unit, pain management team, and community health nurse Diana – thank you, thank you, thank you. Your care of our mother was exceptional.

Funeral service will be held from St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church on Monday, August 31st at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Forest Road Anglican Cemetery.  Donations in Joan’s memory may be made to St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church or the SPCA.

Mom you will be in our hearts for eternity. We love you so much.
