Obituary

John H. Walsh, aged 69 formally from Fermeuse, known best for his carpentry skills and distinguished sense of humour, passed peacefully away at home following a courageous and valiant battle with cancer on July 2nd, 2018. He is preceded by his father Vincent Walsh, brothers Patrick & Vincent Walsh and infant brother, sisters Monica Roche and Margarette Walsh and brothers-in-law Joseph Lee, Gerald Fleming, James Fleming and parents in law James & Mary Fleming.

Left to mourn his mother Jane Walsh, wife Sophia, sons David (Lina), Patrick, William, and daughter Christina. His brothers Dermot, Brendon (Mary Alice) and sisters Doreen (Rene), Madonna and Joan (Randy). Brothers-in-law Thomas Fleming (Louise), Kevin Fleming (Eileen), Julian Fleming, (Madonna), Patrick Fleming (Lucy), Michael Fleming (Melva) and Donald Roche. Sisters-in-law Lorraine Walsh, Margaret Fleming, Elaine Molloy (Tom), Clarice Payne (Wayne), Marie Anthony (Ray) and a large circle of nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd on Thursday, July 5th from 2-9 and Friday, July 6th from 2-9. The funeral mass will be held from St Pius X at 9:30 am on Saturday, July 7th. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, St John’s. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to The Gathering Place or one’s own choice.

So sorry to hear of John’s passing. Its many years since I was part of the Walsh family but I certainly think about them very often.
My deepest sympathy to you all.

It is with a heavy heart, I pass along my condolences to you all on the untimely passing of your dear husband, and father. John is with the Lord now, free from all pain and suffering, whilst at the same time, watching over you all from heaven above.
Treasure all the wonderful memories and I know there are many. This will help ease the sorrow and provide you with peace and strength during the difficult days, weeks and months ahead.

Although we didn’t know John personally, we certainly knew about him and his many great qualities through conversations over the years with Tom, Pat, Kevin, and other members of your family.
