Obituary
Passed away after a brief illness at the Health Sciences Centre, Roger Hubert Knee of Jamestown, Bonavista Bay in his 61st year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 37 years Ruth (Collins), his children Pamela, Robin (April) and Heather, his three precious granddaughters Lily, Elyse and Nadia, father Hubert Knee and brother Roy (Sheila), four nieces and one nephew. Predeceased by his mother Daisy and sister Gwendolyn.
Cremation has taken place. The visitation will be held at St. James Anglican Church, Jamestown, on Thursday, January 18 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. James Anglican Church on Friday, January 19 at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada or Crohn’s and Colitis Canada.
Special thank you to all who cared for him during his illness. Roger lived a lifetime of hard work, now it’s time for rest.

I just heard of Rogers passing and want to pass along my condolences. I was fortunate to have known Roger even for such a short period. He was unlike anyone I have ever had the opportunity to get to know. His laugh was infectious and his smile could light up the darkest of rooms. The way he spoke of his family and grandchildren was filled with pride, I can only imagine the loss you all must feel.. The place he has left in the hearts of those who knew him can never truly be filled. But, he will forever live on through the beautiful memories you have of him. It was a pleasure to have known Roger and all of you and I will take his memory with me in my career. Thinking of you all at this difficult time.

I just heard of Rogers passing and wish to pass on my sincerest condolences at this time. I may have only known Roger for a short time, but it felt like I had known him a lifetime. His charming smile and infectious, warm personality is one I won’t soon forget. He spoke of his work and family with such pride and compassion, I can only imagine the loss you all must feel. It was a privilege and a pleasure to have known Roger and all of you, I think of you all often. May his memory bring you comfort during this difficult time.

I just heard of Roger’s passing and wish to pass along my condolences to Ruth and family.
He had many friends in the building supply industry and beyond and I will always remember him saying to me many times “come down to the house for supper and stay for the night”.
When I would leave his company I sometimes found a big salt fish or vegetables in my vehicle.

Roger and I met through business, however anyone that knows Roger, that is just an introduction for a personal relationship that meant not only visiting Roger in his office, but at his home for a “feed”.
I immediately felt a friendly warmth with Roger of a guy that would always have your back, while still being straight with you.
My condolences to his family that he always spoke of and cherished. If imitation is the act of flattery, I have and will continue to recount Roger’s comments to me over the years.

My condolences to all the family on this sad day. My memories of Roger were filled with good times life lessons and happiness. Growing up with all of his children, I have fond memories of Roger being a man of integrity and positivity. He was a hard worker and his family always showed kindness to me. My heart goes out to Roy, Robin, Heather and Pam as well as Ruth and the grandchildren.
I can still hear him laugh when he saw me riding across the yard on a horse he had gotten for his kids holding on for dear life (obviously not knowing what I was doing). Lol.
