Obituary
Lorraine Thorne, age 63, passed peacefully away on October 4, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family. She is predeceased by her parents Hilda and Eric Abbott; parents in law Henry and Margaret Thorne and sister in law Kay Lawlor(Phil- deceased). Leaving to mourn her husband of 23 years Philip; daughter Judy O’Brien (Dan); granddaughter Alysha Dunlop (Mathew); great grandchildren Rylie and Gracie McKinnon; sisters Sandra Neary (Ron) and Marilyn Ezekiel (Fred-deceased); in laws Richard (Doris), Anastasia (Art), Maurice (Cynthia), Sheila(Bill), Brian (Leifa-deceased), Greg (Shirley), Denise (Henry), Brendan (Debbie), Ag (Ed), Wilfred (Maureen), Alma (Keith), Marilyn, Andrew (Joanne), Michael (Sharon), Joanne (Derrick), Geraldine, Anne, Gertrude (Lester) and Ken (Tammy); special friends Suzanne and Warrick Hibbs; also, a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family wishes to thank all those who cared for her during her last days, and send a special thank you to Dr. Downton, Dr. Rorke, public health nurse Fatima, and Rev. Amanda Taylor for the care and compassion shown towards Lorraine and her family. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Sunday October 6 and Monday October 7 from 12-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday October 8 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Lawrence Anglican Church, Portugal Cove. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lorraine’s memory may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation.
