Obituary
Margaret Ann “Peggy” Simmons passed away early in the morning of July 5th with her son at her side. She left this world with her heart full of love and will be fondly remembered every day.
Peggy was born on Bell Island and is predeceased by her parents Walter and Elizabeth Lacey; her husband Cyril Simmons; her sisters Sandra Dunne, Alice Kavanagh and infant sister Elizabeth.
Left to cherish her memory and carry on her good spirit is her only child Ian; Sisters Mona, Mary, Ros, Georgina, Anne, and Ruth; Brothers Billy and Paul; sisters at heart Teresita, Geri and Ruth Ann as well as countless other family and friends.
As per Peggy’s wishes there will be no church service or visitation.
Ian paula I’m so sorry for your loss. Peggy loved you all very much I’m glad she’s with the angels guideing us everyday . Miss you auntie peggy tell mom I love her and I’m sorry for being such a hard daughter to raise.
I’m so very sorry to here of peggys passing she was a true friend to me and I have fond memories of her and the lacy family.
I was so sorry to hear of Peggy’s passing. She and I were good friends during our school years. She was such a jovial person who was so kind to everyone. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and son. RIP Peg.

So sorry to hear of Aunt Peggy passing. I spoke with her on the phone a couple of days prior and we shared lots of stories and lots of laughs. Aunt Peggy always had a positive attitude even though she had gone through so much sickness. She cherished Ian and loved him dearly. Ian your mom was so proud of you and I know you will miss. her dearly. I pray God will give you the strength to get through the days ahead. . My Beautiful Step Mother, I’m left heart broken and with a big regret, but I know in my heart you will never hold a unloving moment in your heart for me or anyone for that matter., Your not capable of doing that , you have the biggest and kindest heart of anyone I have known in my life and I’ll always treasure the memories. You were and will always be a mom to me. You always said you loved me like a daughter, when ever I was down or stressed our chats always made me feel better, you had that way about you, you never judged not once. Always had my back no matter what. You left this world behind and now your with my dad and your parents I know your at peace and in no more pain. I know in my heart that you are still with me and always will be watching over me, I do have that and no one can take away the memories I have of you. Aunt Peggy was my best friend and you were always there guide me and set me on the right path in life I looked forward to our Saturday phone calls I don’t know what life will throw at me now I only know I’m so heartbroken nothing will ever be the same without you. I love you and I will miss you until we meet again Rest In Peace my beautiful Aunt Peggy
I will always remember Aunt Peggy with fond and loving memories. Although I did not get to see her often , I looked forward to our telephone chats. We’d always have such a laugh and she never hung up without saying “ I love you” . She had so many health struggles of her own , yet she was always concerned about how Glenn and I were doing. My heart goes out to Ian and aunt Peggy’s siblings. Ian you were a model son who always put your mom first… she loved you beyond measure . Please know we are here for you if you need anything. Fly high with the angels my dear sweet aunt , your pain and suffering are no more . May you Rest In Peace, always remembered and forever loved .
