Obituary

Passed peacefully away on March 29, 2017 at the LA Miller Center, Margaret Hammond, aged 86 years, in the presence of her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Thomas. Leaving to mourn son Andrew (Sylvia); daughter Vivian Franks (Tom) of Cambridge Ontario; grandchildren Lori March (Mark), Andrea Clothier (Chad) of Fort Vermilion Alberta, Richard Hammond and Michael Franks (Alannah) of Guelph Ontario; great grandchildren Dylan, Kara, Amber and Lily; brother Everett Allen (Florence); sisters Mary Burry, Elizabeth Dwyer and Loretta Collins (Len); a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A special Thank you to the PCU staff for their compassionate care during moms stay, and also to her sister Loretta for everything she has done for mom throughout the years. Cremation has taken place. The family will accept visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Saturday April 1st from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Sunday April 2nd from 12-2 p.m. A funeral service will be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Sunday April 2nd at 2:00 p.m. with inurnment to be held at a later date. No flowers by request of the family. Donations may be made to St. Lawrence Anglican Church, Portugal Cove, or the Children’s Wish Foundation.

Very sorry to hear of Margaret’s passing. I remember her laugh and her kindness and fantastic sense of fun. She was a great lady.
