Obituary
Passed peacefully away in her sleep at Pleasant View Towers on Monday, November 4, 2019, Mary Burry (Allen) of Portugal Cove. Predeceased by her husband Gordon, parents Maria and Robert Allen, infant sisters Hazel and Madeline, and sisters Margaret Hammond and Elizabeth Dwyer. Left with fond memories her children Reneé (Henry Hussey), Gisele (Ray Parsons) and Glenn (Gail Anstey); grandchildren Henry and Ben Hussey, Sheldon Burry, Cynthia and Justin Burry; great-grandchild James Hussey; brother Everett Allen (Florence), sister Loretta Collins (Len), and sister-in-law Carrie Burry. The family would like to thank the staff of 2NW at Pleasant View Towers for the care given to mom over the years – we truly appreciate everything you’ve done. As per Mom’s wishes cremation has taken place. Donations in Mary’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.

Sorry for your lose, always admired your moms and dads gardens when I walked past their lovely home. So sad when your parents are gone. Hopefully she will be in god’s garden ❤️❤️

Renee, Giselle, Glenn and families, please accept my sincerest condolences on the passing of Aunt Mary. I loved her. I have so many fond memories of her as a child visiting Portugal Cove during our annual summer vacations. I fondly remember her flower garden, suppers and desserts, tea cups, decorating style, red car, and above all her charming giggle. I am thankful that she introduced me to the Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival when I was a kid and for taking me camping. She was a beautiful woman and I will always remember her. xoxoxo
