Obituary

Passed away on December 7, 2016, at 82 years of age, Maureen G. Campbell (nee Mary Gabriel O’Donovan Fitzgerald), daughter of the late Patrick Fitzgerald and Aileen O’Donovan Kelly of St. John’s, Newfoundland.

Leaving to mourn her loving husband Wm. David Campbell; her four children: Maureen Campbell Mackey (John) – Potomac, MD; Jacqueline Campbell Barton (Owen) – Hubley, NS; Kelly Campbell (Patrick Cotter) – Toronto, ON; Douglas Campbell (Amy McCarthy) – Calgary, AB; her nine grand-children: Colin and Ian Mackey; Gabrielle and Gavin Barton; Cecilia and Olivia Campbell-Cotter; Molly, Sophie and William Campbell; her sister Patricia Kennedy (Brendan deceased) and several nephews and nieces and their families.

Also leaving to mourn relatives, friends and classmates from the Royal Victoria Hospital School of Nursing, Montreal – Class of ’58.

We are indebted to the nursing and medical staff of Eastern Health for their kindness and professionalism, in particular, Community Health Nurses Dawn and Trudy.

A very special thanks to Dr. Andrew Stuart Hutton for his very kind considerate care in our time of need, and to Carol Mackey for her compassionate support.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation to take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Saturday, December 10, and Sunday, December 11, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass to take place on Monday, December 12, 2016 from St. Pius X Church at 9:30 am with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Flowers accepted or donations in Maureen’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.

A Mother’s Love gives us our first glimpse of heaven. We were loved beyond measure, and loved you in return. Thank you. ‘Till we meet again Mom, may you rest in God’s love.

We were sorry to hear of the passing of Maureen and wish to extend our prayers and condolences at this difficult time. We have fond memories of her and David as they attended many of the school functions and activities when their children and ours were involved.

Danielle and I are beyond saddened by Maureen’s passing. She was always so welcoming to us as Douglas’s friends and always had a kind word. She was funny and full of life and that’s how we will remember her. We wish you strength to carry forward through this time.

Dear Jacqueline and Family
We were so sad to hear about your Mom. A favourite memory I have of her is sitting in my driveway on a lawn chair with a huge hat on watching us play washer toss????. I hope you are all sharing lots of good memories this week. The Dwyer’s are sending lots of love and hugs to all of the Campbell’s and Barton’s.
