Jim and Marie Cook

Dear George, Gloria, Glenda, Gary and all the extended family,
We have been thinking about all of you and want you to know we are remembering you in our prayers. I personally remember Melva;s sense of humour and her smile. May our loving and caring God surround you with his arms of love and carry you through this difficult time.

To George and the Compton family:
Upon hearing of Melva’s homegoing, the word that came to mind was faithful. In our privileged years of sharing with the Temple congregation, Melva was a permanent fixture. She sang in the sunshine and through the storms, in the valley and on the mountaintop. And what a faithful wife and mom. Melva will be missed here and warmly welcomed there. Sorry we could not be with you today in person, but be assured we are with you in thought and prayer. A great-heart has gone home and we are only a few steps behind. God bless you.

Uncle George and Gloria, Glenda & Gary – so sorry to hear of the passing of Aunt Melva. Losing a loved one at any age or in any circumstance is still a very difficult journey and we wish you peace as you grieve. I have many very fond memories of so many years ago, when as a little boy our families spent so much time together. We are thinking of you today as you say your final goodbyes.

To The Compton Family:
Thinking of you today and remembering some wonderful times that we all spent together celebrating a family event. Nanny as she was known to us all, will certainly be missed. In your sadness and sorrow, please remember…..
There is no pain or loneliness, our Saviour does not know.
No grief He did not carry, in His love so long ago.
No trial but He is able to help us stand the test;
No load but He can take it, and give us peace and rest.
May God’s eternal promises and everlasting love surround all of you in these days. Please accept my deepest sympathy, love and prayers

Were it not for Melva and George I don’t think I’d even be here… The Compton family took very good care of me my first year at MUN, saw us through training and commissioning and followed our adventure with family to this very day. If you knew Melva you knew her hugs and kisses! I got to receive my last when we celebrated Renee’s passing. Blessings and love to George, Gloria, Glenda and Gary along with the extended family.
