Our condolences from the Oklahoma Harkless Family

Sorry to hear of Mel’s passing, he was such a kind and funny man. I have many fond memories of him from growing up and fishing in Bauline. I especially remember his sense of humour and smile. Sorry we missed the funeral. Take care and cherish all the good memories. Darrell and Kelly, Bill and Laurie Butler and families.

Irene and the LeGrow family, So sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this very sad time.

I was saddened to learn of Mel’s passing. I met Mel while working for Small Craft Harbours and Mel was volunteering for the Harbour Authority. We worked together for 10 years or so, and during that time we became friends. Mel was always a gentleman, always kind and always respectful. Mel always took time to ask how I was doing, how my son was and then would share something about his family, mostly his grand children or his wife. I would like the family to know that Mel’s sincerity and kindness meant a lot to me. … he also had good fish!! I send my deepest sympathies. Kim Turchuk
