Mary Win, Cathy, Andy and all the family,
I am very sorry to hear of the loss of your dear and crazy Michael. Although we are no longer the ‘kids’, I still think of us all that way and feel it is too young for any of us to die. Having lost my big sister, Norah, many years ago, I know how difficult it is to loose a sibling. Given that Michael was also a father and grandfather, he is leaving many empty hearts but they are so much fuller having had Michael in their lives. My condolences to you all from Susan Greene Mercer, now of Charlottetown.

First of all condolences to the Jones. families. As a former student of his at St/ Michael’s High School in Grand Falls I want to say that he was the best English Teacher that I ever had. Not only did he give to us an appreciation of English literature but also taught us the inside of movie making which I use today when I view a good film. He will be missed and not forgotten..A former student Neal Stapleton

Mike had such a huge influence on me in the 80s and 90s at NIFCO and beyond. I will never forget his warmth and humour and mischievousness and energy. I saw him last pulling his kayak from the ocean at Witless Bay on such a beautiful day. I will miss him and my thoughts are with you Andy, Cathy, Mary Lynne and the rest of Mike’s family.

Mike and I shared the same class from grades one to eleven, and were together for one year at Iona College. He was a superior student, a genuinely nice person and I always considered him a friend. I would like to offer sincere condolences to Mike’s family and friends and to Eleanor. May he rest in peace.

Mary Win, Cathy and family, My sincere condolences on the loss of Mike. My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time.

Andy and Mary-Lynn and Cathy,
I am so sorry to hear about Mike. I am thinking of you and your families.

Michael was working at the Fisheries College when Valarie and I moved into Gower St (from NS – Sept. 1972). I knew no one. Michael had organized a photo competition. I took a favorite print (Jenni on the ferry) and delivered it to his office. Michael was warm and generous. He told me of an opportunity to sing at The Little Theatre – MUN. I worked up a tune. Sandy Morris and I met there —-and the rest is history ……. Michael Jones – present, brilliant, one of those best looking men in the world …and more and more. Sending Love to the Jones family and a toast to Michael this afternoon. Jim(mie) Oulton

“Souls live on, though flesh shall sleep” – To Andy, Mary-Lynn and all who shared his life, we keep you close in thought and prayer. Grace and Tom Difalco and Phyllis Cole.

Sorry to learn of the passing of Mike.

May his soul R.I.P

My condolences to Andy, Cathy and family. Mike taught me to run a printing press at Iona College, talents we probably never used again. I last saw him about 1967 when he playfully tried to dunk me in the Exploits River. I have always held him with warm memories. He is a very special man.

I am saddened to hear that Mike has completed his earthly journey. I wish to extend my condolences to his entire circle of Family & Friends, with a special wish to Susan and Gabriel. I will miss chatting with Mike on our doorstep each Friday during the summer. ♥️

To Eleanor and the Jones family

Mike was unique . A pleasure to know. I enjoyed a few yrs with him at the Fisheries College in the early 1970’s… the formative years of Faustus Bidgood movie Remember the good times.

I was so sad to hear of Mike’s passing. A vibrant, passionate man. Full of stories and complexities. It seems an impossibility that he is no longer here with us.

So very sorry to hear about your dad’s passing. He was a sweet man and a lovely neighbour on Colonial Street. I always loved seeing him for a little chat when we bumped into each other in the neighbourhood. Sending all the love
