Obituary

Neil David Thistle, age 61, passed peacefully at home in the presence of his family on February 12, 2018.

He is survived by his wife Irene of 43 years, two sons, 1 daughter, 4 grandchildren, 2 daughter in-laws, 3 brothers, 1 sister and their families.

Family, friends and business associates alike will dearly miss Neil’s integrity, generosity, spirit, charm, wisdom and wit.

Visitation will be held at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Thursday, February 15 from 3-8 p.m. Cremation to follow.

Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your beloved Neil. I am Neil’s first Cousin. The daughter of Daphne Noseworthy (nee Thistle). My mother and Neil’s father Owen were brother and sister.

Irene and Family. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Neil’s passing and I offer my deepest condolences…our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Neil was a good buddy from grade 5 to grade 11 and beyond and, although we drifted apart over the years I’ve thought of you and Neil many times. We had some good times back in the 70’s in Neil’s blue Gremlin.
