Obituary
It is with great sadness that we, his family, announce the passing of Randy Joseph Hussey, March 12, 1964-October 9, 2018. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many.
He is predeceased by his parents James Gerald and Clare Hussey, brother Mike and in-laws Gerald and Mary McDonald.
He will be missed by his wife Josephine (McDonald), his children Deanne (Curtis Mitchell), Sarah (Jerry Griffin) and Joshua. Randy’s four grandchildren were his pride and joy, his reason for pushing through his illness. Ava has his gentle spirit and kind heart; Connor has his same love of cars- old and fast; Cameron always made him smile with his singing and dancing; and Cole always had a big smile and a cuddle for Pop. He also had a daycare full of children he loved like family and who adored their ‘Poppy Randy’.
Randy leaves two sisters, Marie (Wayne) LeGrow, Lori (Billy) Dwyer and three brothers, Hubert (Pauline), Stephen (Alice) and Bob (Lisa). Also sisters-in-law Ruby Hussey, Denise McDonald (Josephine’s twin) and Lorraine McDonalds and special nephew Rodney Hussey, and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Special thanks to his friend Ron Bussey who was a constant help and support; his large circle of close friends; his ‘workshop buddies’; and he also made and lost many friends during his three years on dialysis.
At Randy’s request cremation has already taken place.
Visitation will be held at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, October 13th. Funeral service will be held at the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.

It is with shock and sadness that we have learned of Randy’s untimely passing. He was a wonderful man with a great sense of humour.

We are so very sorry for your sudden & tragic loss of your beloved Randy / dad. We cannot even begin to image the shock you are feeling and what you are all going through at this very difficult and heartbreaking time. We know (& witnessed first hand) Randy’s joy, passion & love in life was first & foremost his family and the life he shared with all of you..
The weekly phone calls are now a precious memory. They always centered around days gone by, how much all our lives have changed, current life experiences, family & of course the joy and wonder of the adored grandkids.
Tho his life was cut short to soon, he left an amazing impression on all who knew him. We will always remember Randy as a big-hearted, kind, hard-working man who was 100% committed to his family and a friend to many. He was ALWAYS there to help out, to share his wisdom and patience. He was a true gift to this crazy world and was undoubtedly one of the great ones. The 30 years of friendship shared was a blessing and it was a priviledge to call him our friend and he will be dearly missed.
Please know that we are thinking about you guys as you all go through this very difficult and heart-wrenching time. Savor the abundance of memories you have of him and his spirit will always be near.

It was with deep sadness when I heard of Randy’s passing. He was a gentle man who would do anything for anyone. He was a pleasure to be around.
I know first hand of the profound love he had for his family. He had unconditional love that brightened his day when he was around his family. Currently im in Manitoba and well not be able to make it to the funeral but my thoughts and prayers are with you .

So shocked to hear of Randy’s passing. When I started dialysis two years ago, Randy was one of the first people I spoke with and who understood everything I was going through. He spoke of his children and grandchildren often. Being four hours on the machine, that’s all we did was talk. Sometimes Randy napped thou. in between. When my spouse visited or came to pick me up, him and Randy would speak of cars and I would have to wait – would dear interrupt their conversation.
May you Rest In Peace my dialysis friend. You have a kind soul and I’m sure you will live on in your grandchildren. The rest of us warriors will continue on.

My heart is sad for your loss, my deepest condolences are past your way. I knew Randy since kindergarten, he was always a great guy & friend.
I moved from NFLD 18yrs ago, and it was just the other day someone asked me how long I was smoking….so I told my story…I had my first smoke with Randy Hussey, myself and another girl and Randy went up in a meadow and Randy pulled out a pkg of smokes and said here you are girls let’s have a smoke I dare you, well I wasn’t going to loose a dare, so I started puffing on the cigerette and Randy laughed and said I was doing it wrong, so he showed me how to inhale lol well needless to say I walked home that afternoon feeling green and ready to puke….and yes I still smoke….
