Obituary

Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at his home, on Saturday November 26,2016, Richard (Dick) Osborne, age 84 years. Predeceased by his brothers Leo, Jack and Cecil and sister, Betty, Sister-in-law, Phyllis Mashburn and Olga Hiscock. Leaving to mourn, his loving wife of 59 years, Doris, his children, Bob (Paula) and Sue Mahon (Joe) and precious grandson, Joseph, sister Helen in Calgary and Anita in Vancouver, brother Billy (Jacquelin) in Quebec, sister-in-law’s Shirley Graham (Leo) of Las Vegas and Jean Riddle as well as many nieces and nephews. In the early years, Dick was a member of the Canadian Air Forces, stationed in New Brunswick. Dick spent the rest of his career as manager of Holiday Lanes Bowling Centre. His expertise and invaluable contributions to the bowling industry was respected and well known across the Province. His gentle disposition followed him wherever he went and allowed him to forge many wonderful friendships with all walks of life over the years. Dick loved sports and enjoyed sharing this love with his grandson, Joseph. His family was the joy of his life. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. A special thank you to his sister, Helen, who helped nurse and care for Dick during his final days. As well, thank you to Dr. Patrick O’Shea and nurse, April Adams for their wonderful care and compassion during this difficult time. Visitation at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Monday, November 28th , 2016 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. and Tuesday November 29th ,2016 from 10 – 2 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Carnell’s Memorial Chapel, on Tuesday, November 29th, 2016 at 2 p.m. with interment to follow in the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road. Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations in Dick’s memory may be made to The Children’s Wish Foundation.
