Calvin: We only met you once, but Bob was a good friend of ours and went to Trades and Teck with us in Gander. He could sing the birds down from the trees. He loved Marty Robbins. I am saddened to hear of Bob’s passing. He was a great friend during our JPM days – always quick to brighten a day and had a cherry word for all. Although we didn’t keep in regular contact after he moved to St. John’s, whenever I happened to run into him, we could pick up where we left off during our last ‘run-in.’ He was one of a kind and I know he will be missed by all who knew and loved this gentle man. Rest easy, my friend.

Steven , Cal & family,,
So sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. We have lots of fond memories of Bob. My Aunt Judy who passed away in 1999 would always remember dancing with him to the school dances. He was a beautiful dancer indeed . We got to know Bob from working at the hospital & we both adopted our sons only 6 months apart. Always sharing stories about the boys . Years later both sons were into the music scene in their high school years & with Bob having a huge house , lots of band practises were at Bob’s house. Steven, he was always so proud of you & what an accomplished drummer you were at such an early age. Our sincere condolences to all the family at this difficult time. Cherish the memories.
RIP Bob.

To Calvin, Steven, Family Members & Friends,
Muriel and I were saddened when our daughter Dana, called to relay the news of Bob’s passing. When I joined the Gander Lions Club, back in the early 1990’s, Lion Bob Gill, was the Club President. I have to say that I was immediately impressed by Bob’s complimentary leadership style and how he truly respected and valued everyone. Because Muriel was so taken by Bob’s kind and welcoming personality, she also joined the Gander Lions Club. Bob never criticized and he always wore a wonderful smile. Muriel and I are very thankful that we got to know Bob and enjoy his friendship. Please know that we will be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Romans 15:13

I don’t know where to start, little did any of us realize how sick he was. Robert was a quiet gentle man with a soft voice and a hug for us all. His love for you was unmistakable, you were his world, his life. I have you in my prayers during this time of heartache and loss. Remember love for each other lasts forever whether they are with us by our side or with us forever in our hearts. God Bless, love you.
