April 10, 1929 to November 8, 2019

Obituary

It is with deep sadness that our family announces the passing of our dear mother Susie G. Saunders on November 8, 2019 at the Placentia Lions Manor.  Mom was born April 10, 1929 to William Cyril Mercer and Ellen Mercer (Holmes) of Shearstown, both of whom have passed.  Mom was the youngest of eleven children – nine boys and two girls, all of whom are deceased.  Also predeceased by two husbands, John C. Saunders (1948) and John H. Saunders (1994) and her loving son John C. Saunders (2014).  Leaving to mourn her loving family: daughters Lillian (Dave Dwyer) and Helen Saunders, and son Richard (Pearleen) Saunders; five grandchildren Greg Dwyer (Lorna), Jason Dwyer (Yvonne), David Dwyer (Tina), Nicholas Saunders (Rebecca), and John Saunders; four great-grandchildren Jason and Sydney Dwyer and Clint and Cody Saunders; one great-great-grandchild Paige; family friends Sister Carmelita MacNeil and Susan Pretty, as well as a host of other friends and family.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lions Manor, Unit 1 and 2 for the Love and Care given to Mom.  We are so very grateful to them – if there are Angels on Earth, they are at The Lions Manor in Placentia.

Following Mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  The family will receive visitors at Trinity United Church in Shearstown on Wednesday, November 13 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m., with the Funeral Service to follow on Thursday, November 14 at 11 a.m.

A pleasure to have as a mom, a beautiful soul who loved her family so very much.  Forever remembered, forever loved by all who had the pleasure to know her.  No flowers by request.  As expressions of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to Trinity United Church, Shearstown.

Rest in Peace Mom, We Love You.
