Obituary
Passed away suddenly at home, Sunday, June 21, 2020, Terrance (Terry) William Evans, 69, of St. John’s, NL.
Terry is predeceased by his parents Jean and Ralph, father-in-law Fred Holloway and brother-in-law Bob McGrath and sister Ruth LeMieux.
He leaves to mourn his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Linda, daughters Darlene (Jeff) and Terri Lynn (Rick), along with three beautiful grandchildren who were the apple of Poppy’s eye, Marissa (Reese), Evan and Beca.
Also left behind with a piece of their hearts missing, brothers, Ralph (Diane), Allan (Janet), Jim (Marie), David and sister Carol (Tom), mother-in-law Lillian Holloway, brother-in-law Fred (Barb), sister-in-law Pat, many nieces, nephews extended family and friends.
Terry is also mourned by very close and special friends Judy and Gary Brown, Shirley and Bob Bradburry, Yvonne and Alex Noseworthy, Margie and Lou Wells, Rose Major and Paul Thompson.
We want to thank our dear friends Judy, Gary, Shirley, Bob, Margie, Lou, Yvonne, Alex, Rose, Paul, Vinny and Lon for their caring support during Terry’s illness and since his passing.
A family gathering to say goodbye will take place in the coming days, followed by cremation. No flowers by request.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a memorial service will take place at a later date. Donations may be made in Terry’s honor to a charity of your choice.
As quoted by his loving Granddaughter Marissa,
“We lost our gentle giant last night.”

I was a long-time customer of Mr. Evans, who would constantly tell me to call him Terry. He was always kind and professional, while I pretended to give him a hard time about buying vehicles from him. I send my warmest condolences on this terrible loss to your family.

I had the pleasure of working with Terry and. I want pass in the condolences to his family
I did not know any of you but Terry often spoke of his family when we met at Avalon Ford for our vehicles purchases. Terry was a customer of Roberts’ Barber Shop and that’s how I met him because Dick trusted him and they knew each other well for many years. Terry was a great salesperson but in a gentle way. He gave me the facts and it was up to me to make up my mind with a nudge from Dick. I still have the truck he sold Dick in 2012! Today,. both Terry and Dick are no doubt connected again and watching over us as we soldier on without them. My heart breaks for all of you on the loss of such a wonderful man. Take good care. Pat

I was a regular customer of Terry’s at Avalon Ford. Every time I changed vehicles Terry was my “go to” person. He was very knowledgeable and reliable. You could depend on him to get your best deal. Every time I had service done, I could rely on him to have a vehicle I could use while my vehicle was being serviced.
