Obituary

Beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend passed away peacefully at 51 with her family by her side. Tina leaves to mourn her loving husband Greg Carter and their children Will and Caroline. Also left with fond and loving memories are her mother Carol Densmore; siblings Todd (Liz), Jackie (Greg) and Pam; in-laws Roger (Cris), Donna (Wayne) Green, Dave (Marianne Rogers), Paul (Pam), Glen (Mary Jane), Bonnie (Gary) Summers and Susan (John) Ralph; many nephews and nieces; and her numerous wonderful, supportive friends. Predeceased by her father Kevin Taylor, step-father Pat Densmore, in-laws Walter and Muriel Carter, and nephew Michael McDonald.

Tina will be remembered as a loving mother who took great joy in her children and their accomplishments. She was ray of light who made an immediate impact on everyone she met through her sparkling personality, her generous spirit, and her care and compassion. Tina was always there with a compliment and a kind word. She continuously put others before herself and was actively involved in the community through her work with various business and service organizations, most recently the Rotary Club of St. John’s Northwest. Tina was well known, respected and loved within the hospitality industry. Special thanks to her oncologist Dr. Kara Laing and the amazing and compassionate teams at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center and the Palliative Care Unit, Miller Center.

Funeral services will be held at St. Thomas Anglican Church on Monday December 17 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers blood donations may be made in her memory to the Canadian Red Cross. Tina was the consummate host who actively participated in many charity events; as such, at her request a celebratory cocktail party will be held early in the new year, with proceeds going to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center; details to follow. Cremation has taken place.

Greg and Family, Sorry for your loss. Sincere condolences.

Greg & family,
We are very sad to hear the passing of Tina and would like to offer our sincere condolences to you & your family.

To the Taylor and Carter Family, I am so very sorry to hear about Tina’s passing. We worked together in the hospitality world for many years. She was a ray of sunshine wherever she was and a very kind soul. My most favourite memory will always be sitting on the deck at O’Brien’s helping her with her “manicure” – she taught me how to apply nails – we laughed so much that day and that is the memory I will keep of Tina with me. That smile was infectious. My sincere condolences to all of you and my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Greg and family, Just today learned of the passing of Tina and wanted to express our sincere condolences to you . She was such a joy to have known and pleasant smile and caring way will always be remembered by us. Sam & Eleanor Walters

To Greg and family so sorry for your loss.
I met Tina when we both were in the same Dale Carnegie class. I will never forget the class where we learned how to remember names. Well my way was to think of Tina as Tina Turner. Her personality fit to a tea so energetic and she filled the room.

May your sorrow today be replaced by many great memories

My condolences to you all for the loss of your loved one Tina.
May these scriptures bring you all a measure of comfort and hope during this difficult time.

Revelation 21: 3, 4
With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.

I had the pleasure of knowing Tina all through school and living near her Aunt Bet we often hung out in our younger years. Not to long ago I saw Tina and we had an awesome chat. What an amazing person and what a remarkable life. I feel so lucky that I got to know her. Her generosity and goodness was shown at her beautiful service,

So sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time.

Tall, thin and drop dead gorgeous! Her famous quotation actually defined Tina extremely well. Although she may not have been tall in her physical stature, she had the presence of a giant. Her contagious smile and her uplifting spirit could easily fill a room. She was thin on ridicule and negativity. She always saw that “sparkle” in others no matter how deeply buried. As for the gorgeous well Tina was beautiful both in her physical appearance and in her heart and soul. I had the pleasure of working with Tina at The Holiday Inn and she always made my day so much brighter. One word that always comes to mind when thinking of her is “uplifting”. So please take comfort in knowing that her presence will linger in the many positive experiences she had on so many lives. Sincere condolences to all who loved her.

I knew Tina through Heather McNeill . Tina was a very courageous and loving person and I am glad I met her.
I send my condolences to all of her family.
June Mills(Heather’s Aunt)

Tina and I go back to kindergarten and through high school. Her smile was contagious, and her energy was positive. Through Facebook, we kept in touch and was not surprised to see all her close school friends still very close to Tina and was extremely supportive through her illness. They are rare gems, friends for life. I hope they find peace in the memories they made together over many years. It was obvious how much love she had for her children and family, by her posts. Her daughter is a mirror image of Tina. Beautiful on the inside and out. Through all the sorrow you are experiencing, I pray that as time passes the memories of your Mom and wife bring smiles to your face and warmth in your heart. She will always be with you. My condolences to everyone who was touched by her sincerity, kindness, and love.
