Valda was a wonderful and kind, in so many ways to my grandparents when they needed her assistance and friendship, she was always there. It saddens me to hear od her passing but blessed to know she is in peace watching from up above. My family sends our deepest condolences to the family and all her friends. We will forever remeber her sweet smile and kindness.

We are very sorry for the passing of Valda. She will surely be missed by all. She called our house on Monday evening and asked Marilyn if Verne had enough help with the dinner on the weekend. Marilyn said “Valda” it will take three people to replace you. She was always there when we need something done. We will keep her family in our prayers on Friday and try to get the service over the internet. God Bless.
Verne & Marilyn Bruce and family.

So sorry to hear of Aunt Valda’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with all of her family. I will always remember her strength and her laugh. Sorry that I will not be there to celebrate her life as we are out of town. May you find comfort in knowing she is at peace.

We are so sorry for your loss of your precious Grandmother.
Your Nan was kind and caring and a very strong , brave woman. We were honoured to have had an opportunity to spend time with her and were indeed privileged to have known her.
She often talked about how proud she was of “her boys ” and I know that she loved to surprise you when she would follow you to your many tournaments. I’m sure that your time together last year in Chicago are memories of your Nan that you and your Mom will cherish forever.
I know she was your biggest Fan not just in Softball, but in life.
You have so many memories of Nan that you will hold in your hearts forever and I know you will miss her terribly.
Rest in Peace Nanny Boland. ????

From the Barrington family to the Boland family sincerest sympathy in your loss.

Thinking of you all at this sad time. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.

Auntie Valda
My heart aches from the loss of a precious Aunt. Life is difficult and you have had your share of ups and downs. You endured many obstacles but came out with smiles and positive thoughts that helped many people. You were always a quiet well loved person and friend to all who truly knew you. May God give you all the Blessings that you have earned, you are home where you belong. Love you dearly, Heaven will flourish with your smile and God will watch over you and take you in his arms to welcome you.

Auntie Valda, My memories will be of your infectious smile and laughter. You were an inspiration, for all that you did for others and your courage in facing challenges. You had a loving embrace for me when I would visit you in Ottawa with Mom. You were so knowledgeable about many things. I will never know how you knit one piece sweaters starting with the cuff of a sleeve. My Mom will miss you dearly. Your daily phone calls were something Mom looked forward to each day. Heaven is the better place today because you are there. I love you. Susan

Beautiful Aunt Valda, I will miss you dearly. I will miss our chats over the years during Christmas mostly, and the extended stays that Dad had with you. I can’t thank you enough for the wonderful chats of encouragement and helping my son, Allan during his transition to independence in Ottawa. Some people are hard to replace, and you are certainly one of them. I am blessed to have had you as my wonderful Aunt. God bless you <3.

Drexel and family

Condolences to you and your family on the loss of your mother.

Paul, Edna and Mary Biddiscombe

Sadly missed but comforted in the knowledge that she is in Peace right now and in the Lord’s care.
We had great times together and shared our joys and sorrows. Will be thinking of your family at this time with love.

For the week leading up to her passing, my mother shared a room with Valda at the Ottawa General Hospital. During that brief time my wife and I had many conversations with Valda and we feel that we got to know her. She was a kind, sweet lady. She will be sadly missed. Please accept our condolences to her friends and family.

It saddened me so much to hear of Aunt Valda’s passing. She was a person I could reach out to and talk to about anything. Such an understanding woman with great wisdom and strength!! I will remember you always and of the wonderful times you hosted Dad on his frequent trips to Ottawa. You are home now where your heart always was. Rest in peace Aunt Valda, until we meet again.

With love,

Sharon (Barnes) Ashley, Brian, Alyssa & Victoria

I was so sad when I heard that Auntie Valda had passed away. She was a real trooper dealing with her illness all these years, We never thought it would take her so fast. She had such a kind heart always there to lend a helping hand. Such a beautiful quality to have in life.

There was an outpouring of grief at Britannia United Church on Sunday. Valda was one of those humble women who worked in a quiet way – and no one really knew how many lives she had touched until we came together to share our grief. She took part in every fundraiser, the women’s craft group, our senior’s tea, and several women said she called them every day to see how they were. She provided home care for several of our seniors and helped them with downsizing their homes. They are lost without her. I will miss her dearly, but I can tell you she was aware until her closing breath that she was loved, and in the presence of her God. She has earned her peace and rest.

So sorry to hear of Auntie Val passing. We are sure going to miss you but hopefully you are in a better place with no sickness and lots of love. We love you very much and are going to miss you.
