Just saw this obituary today. Sending deep condolences to you Marilyn and all of your family. Your mom was very kind to my sister Betty when they were both residing at Pleasantview Towers. She was always pleasant and helpful while we were there. I am sure all of the beautiful memories you have of her will sustain her.

So very sorry to read this today. I met her at her shop when I drove by and the plants she had on display in the window caught my attention I had to go in and of course I went back regularly to buy this and that and even just to chat I bought a pine hutch from her and now I’m glad I kept it. I regret not knowing her since she closed up. I never knew what happened and wish I could have spoke one last time I know I’ll see her again one day My sincere condolences to the family If only we all could have a little of her attitude. Take care of each other

Marilyn, Wayne and families,
I am so sorry to hear of Aunt Doris’ passing. She was one of the few relatives on the Daniels side that I had kept a connection with. I visited her often at “the shop” when I returned to St. John’s on vacation or work-related trips. She always welcomed me with a smile and caught me up on the family news. I will miss her and I send my deepest condolences to you. May she Rest In Peace.

Dear Verne, Marilyn and family,

My deepest condolences to your family. It was my pleasure and great fortune to have the opportunity to get to know Doris during her stay with us. She was the delight of my every night shift! We always started off with a good laugh when I would refer to her as a ‘ninja’ after her sneaking up on me at the nursing desk and giving me a start (every time). She always had a lovely smile, a warm hug, gentle, kind words and a generous, sharing heart. She was a truly classy lady! I will miss her dearly; I already do… Thank you for sharing her with us for as long as we had with her.

Sorry for your loss. She was great company for our mother at Pleasant View Towers.

Marilyn & Family. so sorry to hear of the passing of your Mom, she was a sweet friendly Lady. May she rest in God’s loving care. xo

To the Field and Ainsworth families we are so sorry for your loss. Doris was such a lovely and caring person, Vern we are thinking of you at this time.

Marilyn, Geoff, Wayne, Dawn and families,

How blessed we were growing up with such an awesome lady to call our Aunt! As kids, Aunt Doris always went out of her way to make us feel super special. She laughed heartily at our lame jokes and listening intently as we regaled whatever was going on in our little lives. We could always depend on her to buy countless raffle tickets or Girl Guide cookies and to show up without fail to card games and showers with date squares or sandwiches in tow.

Even as adults, we loved to drop by “The Shop” to shoot the breeze but seldom would she be there alone, there would always be someone else around chatting it up, enjoying her bubbly, infectious nature just as much as we did!

Aunt Doris taught me how to mix paint, cut a key, count change in my sleep and climb stairs like Rocky. Heck, she also let me drive a car for the very first time! OK, it never left the parking lot but in my book it still counted. I will wholeheartedly admit that I attribute my love of bakeapples to none other than Aunt Doris, who had more patience picking those, than I ever will..

Although she was in declining health, it was a privilege to have a few visits with her during her stay at Pleasantview Towers. Sending lots of love. She will be missed! Love Dawna

Marilyn, Wayne and families, so sorry to hear of your moms passing, she was certainly a lady you would always remember, and now you must remember the good times. God bless and stay safe

Dear Marilyn and Family,
I am so sadden to hear of the passing of Aunt Doris. She was one of few Aunts that I was close to. I will always remember her determination to work at “the shop” to serve her valued customers. She was kind to all no matter who they were and if they weren’t kind she would be the first to put them in their place. I will miss going home to get my salt fish at the shop, she always had it ready and it was the best! I will miss her but have such great memories that I will cherish forever.

Our condolences
