Passed peacefully away after a short but courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family, Michelle Joyce, on Thursday, September 15th, 2022; age 51.
Predeceased by her father, David.
Leaving to mourn her husband of 17 years Jason; her mother Marie; her sisters, Leona Hudson, Marlene Hawkins (Glenn), Heather Taylor (Angus), Jeana Hall (Brian), Kim Mills (Dave); and her brother David (Diane)
Also leaving to mourn her nieces: Candace (Dave), Megan, Lauren (Greg); nephews: Chad, Steven, Justin (Joanna), Matthew (Yen), Corey, Kyle, Evan (Kathleen); great niece Bella, and great nephews: Jacob, William, Alex, and Ben. As well, deeply grieving her loss are her in-laws Pete and Doreen Joyce who loved her like their daughter; and sister-in-law Karen (Jerry).
Leaving a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Michelle leaves behind her special friends Michelle Hibbs, Laurie Powell, Bev Greeley, and Shelbie Jost who were the family she chose for herself.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Power, Dr. Nouveau, and Dr. Roy, as well as the nurses and staff of 5 North B of the Health Science Centre for their expert care and compassion during her illness.
We are also grateful to the Palliative Care team and staff who were caring and compassionate during Michelle’s short stay in the unit.
The family would like to thank Carnell’s Funeral Home for the professional and dignified guidance shown during our loss.
The family will receive visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Monday, September 19th from 9:00AM – 12:00PM. The funeral service will follow the visitation at the Carnell Memorial Chapel at 12:00PM on Monday, September 19th.
Flowers greatly accepted or a donation in Michelle’s name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

I was so very sorry to hear about Michelle’s passing. She was a good friend during my school years and we were often seat mates on the school bus. She was a thoughtful and kind person with a wicked sense of humour and I always enjoyed being in her company. My sincerest condolences to all her family and friends.
