Ada Miller

January 10, 1945 to December 31, 2024

Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dear “Old Nan”, Ada Miller on December 31, 2024. Ada was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. Old Nan longed for nothing more than to spend the new year with her late husband and love of her life Cliff Miller, “Old Pop”, who passed just four short months before. She’s also reunited with the woman who raised her, Jean Sooley, and her best friend Pauline Hynes.

She is especially remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Carl, who were her caregivers for the past 10 years, her “Golden Boy”, Sam (Laurie), her brother Clarence (Katherine) and her son Jeff (Denise).

She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Scott (Melissa), Brittany “Pineapple Princess” (David), Jessica “Pretty Lady” (Andrew), Jillian “Jilly Bean” (Ryan), Ky, Melanie, Nicholas, Violet, Ben and Zachary; great grandchildren Quinn, Grace, Grayson, Addison, Griffin, Ethan and Ian.

Also leaving to mourn are special friends Judy, Barb and all her card buddies.

Cremation has taken place at Ada’s wishes. Service to be held at St. Lawrence Anglican Parish in Portugal Cove, Monday January 6th at 11:00am. A celebration of life to follow at her home on Millers Pond.

Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean I’ll miss you, until we meet again.

We’ll miss you Nanny.

My most sincere condolences to the family, a beautiful lady will be SO missed .. RIP

I was saddened to hear of Ada’s passing. There are no words that can make this time any easier but the memories you carry of her with you forever will keep her alive in your heart. Tell the stories, shed the tears and remember her often. I can still remember the day Stephen and I and our two boys rolled in along with the Sooley’s for. a 2-week stay at Bonnie’s. First stop was at Ada and Cliff’s where we had what I learned was a traditional Newfoundland meal of Turkey and gig’s dinner. Never did I have that much food in one seating. I am sure I also had my first and last meal of seal flipper stew there also. When I’m Rome…….Then there was the second Newfoundland trip with the Sooley’s when Ada and Cliff joined us in Gros Morne National Park. Of course there were also trips to Nova Scotia that brought lots of fun, laughs and memories. Gone but not forgotten.

I’m so very sorry for your family’s loss ❤️
