Adriana Evangel Green (Ruiz)

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Adriana Green. Adriana passed away peacefully at home on June 29, 2026, after a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her mother, Secundina Zalazar and her father, Julio Ruiz Diaz. Left to mourn are her husband, Morgan MacKinnon and “fur baby” Charlie, mother-in-law, Sonja MacKinnon, father-in-law, Brian MacKinnon, brothers-in-law Guy Zito and Andrew MacKinnon (Corri), sisters-in-law, Isabella and Julianna Zito and Kelly MacKinnon, nieces and nephews Joe, Alexis, Cullen, Charlotte, Cooper, Sierra, Kaylie and Lauryn, cousins Elizabeth Montero (Matias Sica) and Vicky Montero, along with many loving extended family members and her good friend Terri Portelli.

Adriana was an exceptionally talented and gifted musician. She specialized in music right from kindergarten in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She graduated from the conservatory there and played in a number of orchestras until finally becoming the principal oboist in the National Symphony Orchestra of Brazil. She also did a year of musical study in Italy. In addition to being an accomplished oboist, Adriana played and taught violin, piano and guitar (classical, acoustic and electric). As for music teachers, you couldn’t ask for better. She was extremely dedicated, always going above and beyond for her students. She taught all ages, from very young children to the elderly. She spent countless hours creating arrangements of students requested pieces, organizing recitals, and orchestras, as well as preparing students to take their Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) exams. Adriana was exceptionally proud of her students, some of whom even considered her to be a second mom. Adriana was also very proud of winning awards from the RCM for her students achieving the highest marks.

Adriana was a woman of many talents. In addition to her musical abilities she was a perfectionist with her fine crochet work. She had a green thumb and loved to garden. She was a YouTube aficionado where she learned all kinds of skills such as building garden walls, bases for sheds, wooden shelves and gates, master chef level dishes, amongst a myriad other skills. Most recently Adriana began down the road of early childhood education. She worked in a local daycare where she touched the lives of 100 different children. She took extreme pride in her work and in starting up a beautiful, regulated family home child care for infants. She was a lifelong fútbol fan and spent her final days and moments cheering on the players at the World Cup.

Most importantly Adriana was a beautiful human and a gentle soul. She was loving, kind and generous. She was quick to give a crocheted gift which had taken weeks or months of work. She grew plants for people and gave fresh food from her garden. She gave to people in need. She was hard working and dedicated. She was an exceptional Mami to Charlito, spoiling him with all her heart. She was patient as well as a loving, loyal and devoted wife. The world is a little less bright with Adriana gone from it.

Your patience and compassionate care gave us more time together when we weren’t ready to say good-bye. Dr. Heidi Brake for your care and willingness to provide us with whatever we needed. To our loving community who so generously donated to our GoFundMe allowing us to keep Adriana at home until the end.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held on July 12, 2026, at 3:00 pm at Mom’s Little White Chapel in Mobile. If you have a fútbol (soccer) jersey or something purple, please wear it to our celebration. Otherwise come as you are.
