Obituary

Passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre Monday, March 30th, 2020, Alex Crewe aged 80 years. Predeceased by his parents Sandy and Ivy Crewe and his son Roger. Leaving to mourn with fond memories are his wife Joyce; daughter Brenda; the light of his life his granddaughter Tiffany Noftle; daughter-in-law Karen; brother John (Grace); and best friend and buddy Heber (Pat) Best.  As well as a large circle of friends and relatives. Alex was a teacher who taught at Queen Elizabeth Regional High School for almost thirty years until he retired.

Cremation has taken place. Funeral service to celebrate his life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers all donations can be made to the All Saints Parish Foxtrap Cemetery Fund or The War Amps.

Alec was as fine a teacher as anyone could be. He was also gentle and kind to all. I had the pleasure to have been able to count him as a friend.
I am truly saddened by his passing.

Our condolences on the passing of a true gentleman. I foundly remember him as a cadet officer at the original Queen Elizabeth School. My wife remembers him as a most caring math teacher. He was a positive role model for many young people. So sorry he has passed.

I was saddened to learn that Mr. Crewe had died. He was my math teacher in the original QERHS. I can see him now in the flowing black gown that the teachers had to wear at that time. I remember his smile and his kind nature. A wonderful teacher and a fine person. My condolences to his family and friends.

We were so sorry to hear thay Alex has passed away. He was one of Queen Elizabeth’s finest and dedicated teachers and a true gentleman. I remember as a young principal starting out in 1983 , Alex was one of those individuals who I knew I could depend on . A true Pioneer who will be missed by the numerous students he taught, and the teachers and administrators that he had worked with over the years. It was a true honor to have known him.

I had the privilege of being a student of Mr. Crewe almost 50 years ago. Since that time he always took a moment to say hello whenever our paths happened to crossed.

I was so saddened to hear of Mr.Crewe’s passing, he was such a kind and caring teacher. I was not and never will be a math scholar but he was always so good to his students. I remember studying for our Gr 12 math public and he told us we could call him that evening if we needed to, of course we needed to. He told us in the kindest way possible to stop acting like hens on a hot rock and then proceeded to talk us through the math problem . Sorry to hear of Mr Crewe’s passing. He was my Grade 10 math teacher. He was a great teacher. What ever his style was, he only had to show us once how to do it.; others would take several tries.
He was kind, caring and compassionate.

So sad to hear this news, I just mentioned his name a couple days ago to another QE student (Class of ‘87). He was the best math teacher, and very patient with the ‘chatty’ ones in the back of the class. My sincere condolences to his family.
