Dear David and family,
I am sorry for your loss. I have met your mother when I lived at 37 Forest Rd in the early 1971 from Toronto. I enjoyed seeing her around as neighbourhood, etc.. She was great person I have known her.
Dear David and Family,
I have missed Alison for a long time. She welcomed me to Newfoundland and to the Department of English, and she made our many trips to Toronto to the Irish conferences a total, mind-blowing experience. We both loved the travel and the papers and the shopping. Of course, there were moments, as when Alison lost an expensive bracelet in a taxi (how she managed that, I will never know). Her anecdotes about her trip to Israel with your dad were also a scream. As you know, she had a large, gold Jewish star,, which she wore with great delight and not a little mischief, but it was insufficient to convince anyone in the hotel that she was indeed Jewish (which she wasn’t, of course0.. She delighted in that story. She coined the wonderful phrase, “pineapple of politeness”, and she was that, for sure. She tried (with limited success) to convert me to that behavioral model, but, unfortunately, it didn’t take. She was a genius at organizing, and the Irish conference in the 1970s was certainly the best conference, and the best funded, thanks to your mother’s efforts, ever. These are just some of my many memories of your mother. I miss her, and have for a long time. I apologize for the delay in writing, but I kept trying to find your local address, with no success, and finally realized (duh!) that I could leave condolences here.

I was a student in Dr. Feder’s Shakespeare class and several others. Former classmates and I often share fond memories of her imitating the witches in Macbeth, her dispassionate for Polonius, and her love of Areopegetica. She was a very entertaining and gifted tea her. Memorial wass at disadvantage since her retirement.
R.i.P. Gentle Woman.
