Ann Frederica Walsh (nee Westcott)

January 2, 1943 to January 27, 2022

Obituary

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beautiful Mother, Grandmother and Friend, Ann Frederica Walsh (nee Westcott) on Thursday, January 27, 2022, age 79 years.

It would be wrong to say that Mom lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Mom stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Mom. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn’t mean she lost her fight.

Mom left this world tightly held in her children’s arms with hundreds of “I Love You’s” whispered in her ear as she gently slipped away.

Predeceased by her loving husband Larry (March 2020), infant son Laurence; her parents, Frederick and Bride Westcott; sisters, Kathleen Mackey, Hilda Walsh, Judy Kane; brothers, Fred, Pat and Bruce Westcott; treasured nephew and God child, Cory Sampson.

Ann is survived by her loving children Kimberly (Tom) Tobin, Sandy Mamye and David (Cheryl) Walsh; Grandchildren whom she adored, Megan Tobin, Emily Mamye, Ryan and DJ Walsh; her sisters Elaine Millman, Gail (Charlie) Sampson, Karen (Rupert) Walsh; her brother William (Rhonda) Westcott and sister in laws Mary Collins, Rose Cotter, Carmel (Wayne) Baker along with much loved nieces, nephews and treasured friends.

The Family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of 3 North at St. Patrick’s nursing home who brightened her life there and made our goodbye a little easier.

Following COVID-19 public health guidelines, a celebration of life will be held for Ann & Larry on Monday, January 31st, 2022, from the Carnell Memorial Chapel by invitation only. An inurnment will take place on Tuesday, February 1st, 2022 at 1PM from Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Flowers are gratefully accepted, or donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
