Anne was born into a large family on January 6, 1953. She found joy in helping care for her younger siblings. Her strong family values were deeply rooted in these early experiences. In 1969, she married her beloved husband, Edward Woodfine. Together, they enjoyed 32 wonderful years, raising their family and making a home in the Mundy Pond area of St. John’s.
Years later, she took on the cherished role of Nanny Anne, a calling that perfectly suited her vibrant spirit. With her fun-loving attitude, she transformed ordinary moments into delightful memories, filling the lives of her four granddaughters with much laughter over the years.
Her memory will continue to inspire, reminding us of the power of a loving heart and a joyful soul. Her strong work ethic, selfless and caring nature, and sharp sense of humour will be fondly remembered forever by all who knew her.
Special thanks to sister-in-law and best friend, Wanda, for her unwavering support. We also wish to thank Father Joe Mroz and the medical team at the Health Sciences Centre, particularly Dr. Popadiuk, for their compassionate care of Anne in her final hours. Heartfelt condolences to Tony and Keith and their families as well as Ann’s siblings and extended family. Sad to hear of your mom’s passing. It’s not easy loosing your mother/ grandmother but I know that you all have many beautiful memories to keep her close to your heart. I have spent some time the past few days thinking about us all growing up together and recalling the many times we played together, had fun and yes even fell out at times over silly things when playing allies or baseball. But we always made up especially when we were given out allies back. Ann was always there for a laugh and to make us laugh that’s what I will remember most about her. She was a very proud mother and grandmother her eyes lit up when talking about her beautiful granddaughters. RIP Ann
Deepest sympathies to Tony, Keith and their families, as well to our community of family at home.
I recall Anne’s visit with Chris and I in Ottawa. She had a great sense of humour and loved to have fun with life. Godspeed your soul to heaven. Rest in Peace Anne.
