Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Austin James Hayes, age 77, on March 29, 2019.  Predeceased by his parents, first wife Ann Woods, and siblings Bob, Jack, Betty, Joan, Judy, Jerry and Jim.  Leaving with fond and loving memories his fiancée Helen Caines and her children Jackie Emberley (Ronnie), Gerry Caines (Rhonda), Sharon (Dave Burry), Karen (Bob Lee), Shannon Caines (Mary).  Survived by his children with his first wife Ann: Joanne, Tina, Betty and Austin “Chick”, his siblings Ernest and Helen, and many other family and friends.  The family wishes to thank the ICU team at St. Clare’s for their exceptional care and comfort provided over the past few weeks.  Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Saturday, March 30 from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, March 31 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  Funeral service will be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Monday, April 1 at 1 p.m. with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.  Flowers gratefully accepted.
