Passed away peacefully on August 19, 2024 at the age of 77 years, Bernadette (Bun) Mercer.
Predeceased by her husband Ray; son Raymond; father Thomas; mother Julia (Rickert); sister Diane and her husband Bernard; sister Daphne and her husband Bill; brothers Denis and Derrick; brothers-in-law Edward and wife Nellie), Eric (Madonna); nephew Dean; sisters-in-law Florence and husband Peter and nephew Peter; Sister-in-law Marjorie. As well as sister-in-law Shirley, who passed away on the same day as Bun.
Leaving to mourn daughter Julia, grandchildren Ben (Jen), Alexis (Marchello), and Christien (Cassie); great-grandchildren Colin and Ares; grand-daughter Aleasha Angelo; brothers Tommy (Carol and niece Judy) and Bobby; nephews Robert and Richard; niece Kelly (Sean, children Alex and Matthew), nephews Dion (Allison ,Julia) Keith (Clarisse), Nieces Deane (Barry, son Barry Jr.), Paula (Todd, Stephanie and Stephen), Susan (Mike/ Billy, Megan, Charlotte); sisters-in-law Lyn (Courtney and Natasha), Roxanne (son Dennis Jr.), Madonna (Rosemary, Jenny/Jacque, Betty/David, Donna/Doug; Marjorie (Patrice) and Dan (Tina); Niece Carly (Gordon/ Mark) Edward (Patsey), Brenda (Fred), Paul (Beverly) John (Juanita); special friends Rod and Tina Morgan; along with a large circle of family, friends, and relatives from the Hollett, Rickert, Mercer and Copper families.
Anyone who knew Bun can attest to her two temperaments; Big-hearted and Merciless. So you know there’s a battle between Christ and Lucifer. (LOL)
Mom, I hope you find peace on the other side that you have longed for.
Visitation will take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Wednesday, August 28 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from The Carnell Memorial Chapel on Thursday, August 29 at 11 a.m., with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
