So, so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing.

You guys were such wonderful neighbors on New Cove Road for years. Loved Bernice’s dry sense of humor. She was so funny in her own quiet way. You were her world for sure.. She’d have you done up like a little doll every day..

Even today, after all those years, when Gerry, my brother calls to see if there’s a place to park on New Cove Road, I’ll find myself saying ” yes, there’s a spot out by Howie and Bernice’s”.
You, your mom and dad will always be remembered by us.

Take care Kim. I know you’ll feel her presence always..

So sorry for your loss.

Kim and John
Deepest condolences to you both. May your wonderful memories help you in these difficult days.

I was very sadden to her passing of Aunt Bernice . She was very kind and sweet Aunt. I had a lot good memories of her in younger years. Thinking of you, god bless you and your family. And i thoughts and players be with you. by William Robert Lush, and Shirley Lush.

It has sadden me to hear the passing of Aunt Bernice. As a young lad I would get Aunt Annie and Bernice mixed up as I thought they looked the same. There was always a cool boy toy under the Christmas tree and it was always great to see our cousins when we got together. I am very sorry for the loss of your mother as they hold a special place in your heart that you will carry forever. I find myself deep in thought about the fond memories of mine. Thinking of you, may the good lord bless you all.
Your cousin Jeff

Kim & John We were saddened & shocked to hear of aunt Bern’s passing, she was a kind , caring & precious aunt. I have so many wonderful memories of the times we spent together. From my summers in town , to the road trips we all took together. It was our place to stay when we would come to St. John’s. There was always a delicious home cooked meal when we arrived & a lunch packed with tasty tea buns for our road trip back home. She made it her duty to make sure everyone was well taken care of. I will always treasure all those memories & they will always remain & be very dear to me. Those we love will never leave us but live on in our hearts & minds forever. I will always be here for you Kim if it’s only just to talk . Big hugs to you & John from us both ❤️

So sorry for your loss she will be dearly missed my prayers thoughts are with you and your family. She was a great Aunt to me and sister to my dad Bill Lush..

Kim and John,
I was so saddened to hear of aunt Berns passing. She was a gentle soul who always welcomed us into her home at anytime we would make a visit to St. John’s. I have many memories of her when I would visit in the summer as a child when we would pick her up at night from the grace hospital. Although it’s been a few years since I’ve seen her she would always send a card at Christmas and me one to her. I looked forward to that with living away from home. This year their will be a void. Know that I am thinking of you and sending you lots of love and hugs at this very difficult time. There are no words that will make it feel better right now but hang on to your memories and know she is always with you

Kim & John
Being a man of sorrow and acquainted with grief I am still deeply saddened and sorrowed by the sudden death of your beloved mom and my beautiful sister.
Memories are made of this: Growing up in our tiny community, I was the oldest brother and your mom my youngest sister I was very protective of her.
I can recall sitting in my sisters bedroom watching over her while she was recovering from pneumonia
Recently she reminded me of the beautiful doll i had given her. The proceeds of a summer job selling garden seeds.. A gift of love for my sister.
Precious memories ,how they linger, linger in my soul
May God embrace her in His ever lastiing arms
Uncle Jack

Her nature was selfless and caring , her kindness contagious.. I spent many summers and cherished memories at your home has a child and adult. Aunt Berns was always my home away from home . I will never forget our days at the Regatta , Saturday shopping sprees and when I got older the chats over tea, and show and tell with what we bought new since our last visit . I can go on and on with all those wonderful memories that I will always hold dearly . The love she had for you Kim was unconditional like your love for her . Kim, John & Murphy Families

We are saddened to hear about the passing of Bernice. Many a time we spent down on New Cove Road chatting with your Mom & Dad. Bernice was a quiet, gentle lady with a heart full of love for her family., she was a lot quieter than your Dad but yet she took everything in and listened to what was being said. We have lost a beautiful member of our extended family, in the days and months to follow smile each time you think of her and when times seem empty remember you are not alone but that your Mom has her arms around you to let her little girl know she is not far away. God Bless ????????

Kim and John
I am so sorry to have to write my sincere condolences to you because you have to say goodbye to the world’s greatest mom and I have to say goodbye to the world’s best sister and Aunt to my children. I love her fiercely. I wish I had the words to make it easier for you because I know it is one of the most difficult times of your life, as it is mine. I am sure that her love , kindness and caring ways will be with you always. I will surely remember all our special times as we raised our children ( together as much as possible ) , shopping sprees, family gatherings, and heart to heart chats about whatever family, world or community issue was on going at the time. My heart is with you today and remember you are not alone. Think of me thinking of you and call anytime . You both mean so much to me and I am wishing you peace in your time of sorrow.
Much Love
Aunt Annie

Kim & John,
We were so sorry to hear of your Mom’s sudden passing, such a difficult thing to face unexpectedly. Your Mom was always very kind to me when we were growing up, such a soft spoken lady, such a hard worker. I would go to your house on the way to school so we could walk together; I can still see her helping you with your sweater, putting fresh tissues in your pocket, passing you your lunch and book bag, such a caring Mom, I always admired that.
We hope your beautiful memories carry you through the difficult days ahead.
Take care,
Lisa & Roger Tulk

Dear Kim:
Words fall short of expressing my sorrow for your loss. My thoughts are with you.

I am so sorry for the loss of your precious mom. I remember so clearly how Bernice treated me like her own when I lived with you guys during my first year at MUN. She was such a kind and loving person. The friendship you had with her was truly wonderful and I hope the memory of that friendship will carry you through this difficult time. My thoughts are with you and your family.

We are so sorry for your loss. I was sitting here reading through the condolences and it was quite clear that anyone who knew your mom, saw she was such a gentle soul. She always had a smile and kind words, she will be missed. Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

To Kim and John
I am so sorry I cannot be with you when you probably need us the most but believe me I have my arms wrapped around you during this sad time. Aunt Bern was always our run to person for anything we wanted when we were growing up. She welcomed us with open arms and listened without opinion or judging She was our “Rock “ She was always quiet and spoke softly but what she said had substance and we listened. . Her place was we were all gathered for summer holidays and long weekends except the ones when you all came to Valleyfield ( which were many ) . She had a houseful of borders but there was always room for us even if it was a roll away cot. Either way we were always together. I hated those long walks we had to take to get you to school but she walked you every day for years and I loved our conversations along our way. Our mom’s were very close sisters and that allowed us to be all together for whatever excuse we had to get together! The length of this page cannot hold the list of special memories that I have of our very late night chats , backyard swings, cups of tea, etc but I will hold them in my heart forever. Let’s get together as often as we can when Covid is over and we can be together,. My door will always be open for you on any occasion or just to get away. I will look forward to that . Love you special sweet cousin and Rest In Peace my beautiful Aunt.
Love , Phyl

Dear Kim, John, and family,

My heart is broken to learn about the sudden passing of my Aunt Bernice – your beautiful mom.. I have many wonderful memories of her and our visits in Valleyfield, Gander and St. John’s when I was growing up. Aunt Bernice was a very kind person with the sweetest soul.

I recently found a gem of a letter that she wrote to my mom before those two were married. She seemed to be in cahoots with getting my mom to marry dad, (her older brother) John Lush. Those two were always great buddies and I know they have reunited again in heaven. My deepest condolences to you and your family.. Aunt Bernice will be greatly missed.. Hugs to you and everyone who loved her.
