Very sorry to hear of Aunt Bernie’s death. I have many fond memories of her. She was the lady with the yellow hair who gave an amazing haircut. Dearest condolences to all family and friend.

You truly were one of a kind Aunt Bernie. You were so special to us the year we lived in St John’s and all your wonderful visits when you came to the US. Your love and support when Mom (Helen) and Dad (Joe) passed away meant the world to us. Tom and I were so thankful you came to visit us in 2019 and you were able to get to know our children, Matt, Hayley and son-in- law, Andy. The little husky dog gift you sent to our grandson, Nate, that Hayley named ‘Bernie’, will be a treasure now. We loved you dearly and we will miss you forever.

Bernie was a loving presence in the Murphy family. Bernie and Jerry attended many of the family functions over the years.. Bernie loved to see the grand children and was always interested in their lives . My son Mark and Bernie had the same birthday and for many years we celebrated that day together.. on my recent visit we chatted about old times, friends and family.. We are left with fond memories of Bernie of years gone by.. May she rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of Bernie’s Passing. I have many fond memories of Bernie from the days of
Salon 94, tennis, and then in later days Bridge
at Bally Haley. She was a lovely person.
Rest in Peace, Bernie.

Sorry to hear of Bernie’s passing. I remember her well from her hairdressing days and later at the RCAF Wing where we played darts, went to dinners, dances and other fun events. My condolences to Jerry and family. RIP Bernie.

I was so sorry to hear about the loss of Bernie. Such a nice lady. I remember the Gillis sisters were spoken quite highly of by my mother , Joan Hann. My condolences go out to all the family. This is a beautiful picture with her dog. Thinking of you all ..

What a privilege to have known, loved and shared a lifetime of fun and friendship with “Bernie”. We’ve been buddies since Grade 3 days at Mercy Convent — just yesterday!!! She was a strong character while being very compassionate, genuinely caring , and a generous lady, who always brought smiles to the faces of both friend and foe. Bernie leaves an afterglow of special, happy, laughing times and bright and sunny days. Dearest Bernie – you will always be with me in my heart. My love, prayers and condolences to Meg and family.

I will hold Aunt Bernie in my heart, so many smiles, so many haircuts in our kitchen in Toronto when she visited. She has truly left an incredible memory in my heart and a tribute to her is that I have no memory of her never smiling. God Speed Sweet Aunt. Say hi to K Baby, my Dad and my sister.
