_________________________________________________________________________________________

It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Jerry Victor Wheaton, formally from Frederickton, NL.  Leaving to mourn his loving wife Elizabeth (nee Meaney) and beloved children Julia and Jarrett, and loyal family pet Lyla.

He is survived by his father and mother, Harris and Kathleen, 3 brothers; Vaughn (Lori), Floyd (Christine), Bernie (Ann) and close cousin Moyles Jacobs.

Also leaving to mourn, in-laws; Albert and Leona Meaney, Darlene (Lawrence) Whalen, Albert (Lisa) Meaney, Justin (Lisa) Meaney and Kristen (James) Derwin.

There is also a large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family, friends, and colleagues that mourn Jerry’s passing.

Jerry will be remembered for his large personality (and voice), sense of humour, and enjoyment for all things outdoors.  Those who knew him will recall his wondrous lack of patience but also his friendship and willingness to lend a hand when called upon. Jerry was also a hard-working and loyal colleague in his position as Pilot with the Great Lakes Pilotage Authority and in previous positions on the Great Lakes.

Most of all, Jerry will be remembered for his love and commitment to Elizabeth, Julia and Jarrett.  He treasured the moments he spent sharing his love of the outdoors with them, whether it be at the cabin, fishing, sledding, and the list goes on.  Jerry’s life was full of love and friendship from so many people.  He will truly be missed.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank all of the first responders for their attention and care to Jerry.  A special Thank You for the professionalism and communication from the RCMP.

Betty, sending my condolences to you and your family.

Spent much time thinking since hearing of the passing of a great cousin. I laugh and cry at the same time thinking of the jokes Jerry would tell me. I never got to meet his wife and children, but his wife must be something for sure. He had good taste and was very particular in finding his soul mate. Much love and support to you Elizabeth and his cherished children. Jerry is so easy to miss because of his personality. Keeping all family and friends in my thoughts in the coming days.
