Christopher John Green

September 21, 1973 to June 30, 2022

Obituary

It is with much sorrow that we mark Christopher’s death on Thursday 30 June 2022. He was born 21 September 1973. Chris was predeceased by his grandparents Leo and Nell Molloy and Bill and Marjorie Green, all of whom were an important part of his life. He will be sorely missed by his parents, John and Margo and his sister Janet Chipman, her husband David and his nephews, Jack and Michael of whom he was so fond and proud. He was blessed with a loving group of aunts, uncles and cousins, whose company gave him great joy. The family will be hosting a visitation from 3:00 to 6:00 on Wednesday 6 July 2022 at the Fluvarium, 5 Nagles Place, St. John’s. Flowers gratefully declined but, if so inclined, donations in his memory to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.

Sending heartfelt sympathy to the family upon reading this today..You are in my prayers. Godspeed Chris.

John and Family;
We at City Tire had grown to know Chris over the years and always enjoyed his company when he would come in with one of the family cars. Often he would wait in the store if it was a quick job and chat with us. He was always so pleasant and friendly to talk to. Our last conversation he stopped in just to say thanks for helping him with selling the Avalon; he was considerate like that, and I appreciated that he took the time to come in when a phone call would have sufficed. I was shocked to read this today. Please know he will be sadly missed at our garage by me and the rest of the staff who took care of his cars over the years, not just as a loyal customer but also as a friend. Thinking of you all at this difficult time.

I fondly remember Chris from Sunshine camp when we were little, Murray’s Pond, skiing….. such a wonderful person with a smile that could light up a room. So sorry for your loss.

Margaret-Anne and I send our deep condolences on Christopher’s passing..

Dear John, Margo, and family.
I was truly shocked to hear of Chris’ passing. I got to know Chris more in his later years from seeing him and chatting with him when I worked at the Cornerstone many years ago. It was a pleasure to talk with him whenever he would be in the building. As well, whenever I would bump into him around town and he would always stop for a chat with me.
He will be truly missed and my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

My thoughts, prayers and sympathy are with you at this difficult time.

To the Green Family,

I was so saddened to hear of Chris’ passing. He was an old high school friend and we spent most of our time in the gym shooting hoops. As can happen, you lose touch with friends after high school, but I was so thrilled and surprised to see him show up at my work place to visit his Dad. I hadn’t put the two together when I started working there. Reminiscing with old friends after about 25 years can be quite enjoyable. Chris will be missed by many, R.I.P

My sincerest sympathies to Mr. and Mrs. Green. Take comfort knowing he meant so much to so many people.

Janet and family, sending my heartfelt condolences and thinking of you all at this difficult time.

I am so very saddened to have heard the news of Chris passing. Many years ago I had this sweet talkative energetic fun teen sit in my chair and we at once connected. I always looked forward to his appointments as I knew we would have much to talk and laugh about. We had a twelve year break while I was out of the county but he found his way back to my chair when I returned home. It was like time had stood still we still had our connection still had much to talk about and still laughed. I knew you struggled but you didn’t show that to me you were always so positive and happy when I saw you. Chris I missed you today as my Chair sat empty. You will be dearly missed. My sincere condolences love and prayers to your family and friends that loves you dearly.

Deeply, deeply saddened by this news. I first met Chris “Greener” when we moved on to Pine Bud Avenue when I was 7 years old and we quickly became fast friends. He was the older + bolder of the two of us and we shared many grand adventures through our childhood days together with a great brood of neighbourhood buddies. Chris was always first in the mix, full of life and laughter…and that is how I will always remember him.
Deepest condolences to Margot, John and Janet and all those close to him, as he touched so many.
RIP Greener, old friend.

My deepest condolences to his family and friends. RiP !

Chris had such a positive impact on my life. Wish I had bumped into him as an adult so I could have let him know how much I appreciated his kind words and how positivity impacted me as a hockey player and person. . He was our trainer but so much more. He was a mentor and friend. RIP Chris.

After a chance encounter on the pool deck of our condo in Florida, while both our families were on vacation in 1986, Two scrawny young Newfoundland boys became lifelong friends. Though at times distance kept us apart, our bond and our friendship never failed.

When together, we inseparable, our families were one. We knew all about each other and held no secrets from each other. We had each other’s back and were always available to each other. Chris was my go to when I needed a friend and he always did what he could, even when I didn’t ask. And, I was and did the same for him.

Though we all have friends in our lives, to have a true friend is rare and a blessing. Chris told me any times that he only had two true friends in his life, and I was privileged to be one of the two, and he was my most trusted and closest friend.

I will miss you dearly Townie, as will John, Clare, Michelle, Mom and Dad. You were the Brother I never had. I Love You. 💔
