Chris Paul Neary, beloved husband, parent, grandparent, brother, and friend passed away in the presence of his loving family on Sunday, July 24th 2022, at the age of 65.
Predeceased by his parents Alma and Paul Neary and mother and father-in-law Dot and Fred Hussey.
Chris will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his wife, Grace; his children, Nicole Gerhardt (Steven), Christopher (Jennifer), Julie-Anne (Dheeraj Trivedi); and his five grandchildren: Cole, Chase, Olivia, Sophia and Devin who he absolutely adored. Also remembered by his siblings Ron (Sandra), Brenda Bowen (Don), Anastasia Day (Derrick), Paul (Linda Chafe) and Edward (Lorna Kent); and nieces and nephews. He will be in the hearts of special friends, sister-in-law Cora Turnbull; brothers-in-law, Don Turnbull and Derrick Hussey; as well as many more relatives and friends.
Special thanks to Dr. Miles Clayden and the nursing staff at the Intensive Care Unit for their wonderful care over the last several days.
We will all remember him for his hard working, quiet gentle soul.
Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road with visitation from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Friday July 29. A funeral service will be held for Chris on Saturday July 30, at 1:00pm at St. Lawrence Anglican Church, Portugal Cove. All are welcome to attend.
The interment will happen at a later date.
Flowers gratefully accepted or a donation can be made in Chris’s honour to the charity of your choice.

Dear Grace and family. Randy & I were so sorry to hear about your loss. Chris was always smiling and friendly. I remember one winter day when I was walking I slipped on the ice and fell to the ground. Just as I did an angel in a green truck stopped and helped me up, Bless him, it was Chris. I was so embarresed and asked Chris not to tell anyone that he saw me fall. We both laughed at that. I was grateful for his kindness. I know your heart will ache for a very long time. I know it will be hard. Keep your memories close to your heart and thank the Lord for the time that you did have with Chris. But lean on God for strength, and courage. Lean on your family for they know your heart is breaking, as is theirs. I will pray for you and your family. May God Bless and keep you as you go through this loss.
