Clotilda (Tilly) Mary Reid (nee Barron)

January 29, 1955 to January 29, 2022

Obituary

Passed peacefully away following a brief illness in the presence of her loving family on her 67th birthday of January 29, 2022.

Predeceased by her mother Loretta Frances Barron, brother Glenn Francis Barron, nephew Glenn Damian Francis Connors and uncle Dr. William Fagan.

Leaving to mourn her devoted husband of nearly 50 years Douglas Reid, daughter Jennifer (Joe), son Doug (Laura) and her five grandchildren: Dylan, Luke, Ryan, Kaitlin and Olivia, all of whom her world revolved around. Also leaving to mourn are her father Jeremiah Barron who will miss her dearly, sister and best friend Brenda (Paul), siblings Paul, Theresa (Mike), Pauline (Damian), Jerry, Daphne, Doug (Deanna) and Jacinta (Dougie) and the numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews she loved like her own, as well as her other relatives and many close friends.

Tilly’s zest for life was truly infectious and she always put the needs of others ahead of her own.  She would want us all to live life to its fullest in her honour.

Cremation has taken place. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, and in keeping with Tilly’s expressed wish of not having people fuss over her, a celebration of Tilly’s life will be held during the summer of 2022.

A very special thank you to the emergency room and 4th Floor, West wing staff at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital for all their support and compassion. The work you do is so important and we thank all heath care workers for their efforts during this difficult time.

The sea as black as night
The harbor cold and dim
I try to fight
But everyone’s spirits are grimm
I am alone
Without her in my world
I am in her empty home
Hugging my grandfather
Hoping he could feel better
He saw her
In her last breaths
We all cry silently in our rooms
For we had lost someone special to us
We could not get her back
For we weeped in sorry
That we would not get our Grandmother back

For Nanny Tilly who was the best Grandmother in the world
May you rest in peace
– Kaitlin Reid
