It is with immense sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved father, Craig Tremblett.
Frederick Craig Tremblett was born on July 30th, 1964 in Botwood, NL, to Doreen and Frank Tremblett. Craig grew up in Bishop’s Falls, NL. From his childhood throughout his life, Craig had a love for sports, and particularly enjoyed playing hockey and softball. His athleticism guided his career path as he pursued a degree in Physical Education at Memorial University. Craig taught Phys Ed and grade five before completing his masters in education, and taking on a leadership role as an elementary school vice principal and later as a principal. Craig worked for many years as a principal at Roncalli Elementary school, where he was affectionately known by many young children as the ‘door-man,’ as he arrived early every morning to hold the door and greet children as they entered the school to start their day.
Craig had four children with Catherine, whom he was married to for 28 years. His children all share his love for sports in different ways. Craig’s commitment to his children and community was evident to all who knew him, as he coached hockey and soccer teams, and attended ballet recitals and swim meets. His children were his pride and joy, and he never failed to remind them of this at every opportunity.
In 2021, Craig moved to the west coast of Newfoundland, where he spent the final chapter of his life.
Craig enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly on fishing and hunting trips with his father, Frank, and lifelong friends Doug Trask and George MacDonald.
Craig is lovingly remembered by his four children: Victoria (Amanda), Sarah (Joshua), Luke (Tori), and Beth (Noel), as well as his parents, Frank and Doreen Tremblett, siblings, Don (Wanda), Rosanne (Gord), and Nicole (Oliver), and many extended family members and friends.
Craig will forever be remembered as a gentle, soft-spoken, kind, and generous man, who touched the lives of many individuals as a teacher, colleague, coach, and friend.
We find comfort and peace knowing that he has been reunited with beloved pet and best friend, Felix, and his mother-in-law, Eileen Green, with whom he shared a special bond.
We extend our deepest gratitude to all those who have provided support during this difficult time. Craig will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of meeting him. He is deeply loved, enormously missed, and will be forever remembered.
A celebration of Craig’s life will be held at Carnell’s Funeral home on Freshwater Rd. in St. John’s, NL, on Thursday, January 1st, 2026 from 2-5pm. A visitation and funeral service will also be held at Hoskin’s Funeral home in Bishop’s Falls. Specific details will be shared as soon as arrangements have been confirmed.
In honour of Craig’s deep bond and indescribable love for his best friend, Felix, donations can be made to the Exploits Valley SPCA, or to School Sport Newfoundland and Labrador Inc.

Melita & Family:
Words are just not adequate to express condolences for your loss. I hope your wonderful memories help you in the days ahead.
We lived next door to Craig, Catherine, Sarah, Victoria, Luke and Beth for 18 years. The children all shared amazing friendships together and had the happiest of childhoods. We have cherished memories of Craig shoveling a path in the snow between our houses so the kids could visit each other often. Craig also had a vegetable garden in the back yard and Abby and Beth would frequently raid the carrots.
Thank you Craig for contributing to the happy childhoods of Chelsea, Cameron and Abby.
Our hearts break for your family. We hope you all find comfort in the many wonderful memories he made with you.
Cathrine, Sarah, Victoria, Luke , Beth and extended family. So saddened to hear of Craig’s passing.. Sending condolences to all of you and pray that you’ll draw strength from your wonderful memories of him to get you through this difficult time.

I’m so sorry to hear of Craig’s sudden passing. There are no words to ease your pain – I hope that happy memories and support from those closest to you can give you strength during this most difficult time. Keeping you in my thoughts.
I was so sad to hear of Craig’s passing. He and I worked together for his whole time at Roncalli. Those years were among the most influential in my career. Craig taught me the importance of believing in the strength of the team. He valued kindness, hard work, and loyalty.
He was quiet most of the time, but always quick to share his pride in his children’s accomplishments.
I often quote him when I’m speaking to parents, as he once said to me, ‘School years with your children are just a blink – the first 7 years go on and on, then it’s 3 and 3, and then they are gone.’ So true.
Craig was always very supportive and kind to me and to my children.
My condolences to everyone who loved him
Sincerest condolences to Craig’s Family and Loved Ones, I hope that your wonderful memories will give you some comfort in your grief.
Deepest sympathies,
Heather

I too was shocked at Craig’s passing. Craig is my cousin and we grew up in Bishop’s. Across the road from each other. Had not seen him in a very long time. I remember him as the quiet, tall kid. My heartfelt condolences to all the Tremblett family and especially my Aunt Doreen and Uncle Frank. Rest in peace ❤️
I am so saddened to learn of Craig’s passing. I worked with him st St. Mathews for one year when he was physed teacher. He was always very gentle and kind♥️Id later run into him at the hockey rinks where his son played against mine. Rest easy, Craig.
As a colleague of Craig in the Eastern school district I am saddened by his passing and would like to add my voice to any conversation that celebrates his contribution. He was indeed a quiet reflective and contributing person ( giant.!) to his school and our professional community. His warm response to humour was always appreciated too. I’m sure there are so many precious memories which will comfort you during this terrible time of loss.
Sincerely
Judy Gard Puddester.
I am soo soo sad to hear this news 😢Craig & I shared many laughs together at Rennie’s River where he was my VP in the early 2000s.
Then he hired me for the kindergarten position in 2010 at Roncalli where he was my principal for the next 8 years.
I referred to Craig as a gentle giant. The long standing joke was whenever he would see my grade level
partner & I coming he would ask , “How much money is this going to cost me?” He was always right & we would always have a laugh!
Rest in peace my friend ❤️
Sending condolences to his family at this most difficult time 💕

My sincere condolences to the Tremblett family, especially Don and Roseanne. I remember Craig from my visits to Circular Road in Bishop’s Falls and my time at Coughlan College. He was an all around good guy and though its been many years since I’ve seen him I have nothing but good memories of fun times.
My condolences to the family. Mr. Tremblett was my principal at Roncalli Elementary School 15–20 years ago. His kindness and leadership left a lasting impression on so many children who are now adults and still remember him fondly.
I was so saddened to hear of Craigs recent passing and while our social connection has not existed for many a year I will always remember with great fondness the good times I shared with Craig and his family. Memories stretching back to university days and upon graduation there were the many social engagements and gatherings including a few memorable trips to the camp with Frank and George. All such wonderful memories. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Craigs family and all his close friends.
Always the friendly giant with the big smile as we entered the walls of Coughlan College. Although our paths haven’t passed in a long time, Craig was one of those people you would always remember. Our Coughlan College family to which he and Catherine were a huge part of was so special. The days were care free and everyone was there for each other.
I was fortunate enough to be a friend of Roseanne’s and knew how much she loved her brother.
Sending sympathies to all the family,
Denise Gibbons
Sending heartfelt condolences to the Tremblett family at this difficult time. I too, have many fond memories of our time in the East End of Bishop’ s Falls competing against Craig and the gang on Circular Road.😁.
Eric and I would always cross Craig and Luke’s path during the hockey season whenever Central and East met, it was always great to catch up.
So sorry for your loss,
Terry Goulding
I worked with Craig when he was a Phys. Ed. teacher at Woodland Elementary Dildo. He was very kind to the students, especially my daughter who wasn’t always athletic. But he took extra time with her to help develop her skills. He later became vice principal at our school. A quiet gentle soul. A good leader. I enjoyed working with him.
My condolences to the entire Tremblett family. I remember playing softball in Bishop’s Falls with Craig and both high school and minor hockey. I was also at Coughlan College when he was there and after MUN we both played mercantile league softball against each other. I was very shocked to hear of his passing.
I would like to send my deepest condolences to the Tremblett family. I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Craig’s passing. Craig and I worked together at Rennie’s River Elementary. From our time together as school administrators, I got to know Craig very well and had the opportunity to see him as not only as a professional educator, but also a a strong family man and true gentleman. His pride for his work was only surpassed by his pride for his children who he lovingly spoke of many times. My thoughts are with you all during this difficult time. Rest easy dear friend. You will be missed.

To the Tremblett Family,
I am so sorry to hear of Craig’s sudden passing. I had the privilege to know Craig for many years playing Junior Hockey against one another and then spent many years behind the bench coaching together. We shared a lot of great memories together which I will always cherish. He will be missed dearly. My condolences to the family.
I had the privilege of working with Craig for many years, especially our year together as the admin team at Rennie’s River. He always had such a calm, kind and humorous manner with his school communities, especially the students. He always joked that we could tell the passing of the school year by the milk carton dates! He will be missed and remembered fondly.
Sending our condolences to his family and friends.
I would like to extend my condolences to the whole Family especially to Rosanne. My thoughts are with you.
My deepest condolences to Craig’s family. I played softball with Craig in St. John’s. He was always calm and collected. A true gentleman.. Mark Duff

My deepest condolences to Craig’s family. Having worked alongside him at Roncalli Elementary for many years, I remember him as a man of great kindness and patience. He was the ‘gentle giant’ of our halls, always ready to welcome students with a smile. Much of the success of the new school building is because of his dedication. Even during the most frustrating times, he remained remarkably calm and professional.
Beyond his work, his love for his family was always evident. He beamed when sharing his children’s accomplishments and told wonderful stories about his dog, Felix. My children, who also attended Roncalli, still remember his kindness in sharing staff meeting treats with them, a small gesture that they always enjoyed while having to wait on meeting day. I was glad to hear he was enjoying his retirement on the West Coast, and his sudden passing is a great loss to all who knew him.
Thinking of his family at this time.
So sorry to hear of Craig’s passing. Lots of memories with Craig during my tenure as parent rep at Roncalli Elementary as we worked on many initiatives for the school community. My condolences to his family during this time.
Sorry to hear of Craig’s passing

Paul and Judi Heffernan
My heartfelt condolences to the Tremblett family on the sudden passing of Craig. I knew him as the best friend of my brother-in-law, Doug Trask, and met Craig several times over the years – while he was a student at MUN, at my sister’s wedding, and at minor hockey games of his son and my nephews while I was visiting from out of town. He was a lovely man and a memorable person. I know he will be remembered well by many people.
To the Tremblett Family,
We are so saddened to hear of Craig’s passing. It was only yesterday that the Walsh’s , the Dawe’s and us got together over the holidays and we were reminiscing about the great times we had at Creston Place!
Sending our deepest condolences to you all.
Betty, Eric, Braedan & Claire Sheppard
My sincere condolences to Rosann [and family], and Katherine [and family]. Myself, and Craig were both at Coughlan College from 1981 to 1986. Me being from Gander, and Craig From Bishop Falls. We had many of laughs, usually always on the B Wing of Coughlan College. I think Catherine moved into Coughlan College as well 1982, or 1984, and that is where they started to date. Love was definitely in the air that first meeting. Craig had so many friends from Bishop’s whom are now my friends as well. Shane Freake, Byron Tremblett, Tom Walsh, and well Janet Lake is excellent, Paul Hatcher, Robert Hatcher, the Beasleys, and the Pyes, and Craig Ivany from Grand Falls, the list goes on. Though floor rivalries within Coughlan College were always abound we would always sit at our table at the dining hall. Lobby parties were always the thing, and some good old dancing with the fairer sex. Myself, and Craig were on the all Memorial Fastball Softball Championship team in Autumn of 1985, a memory I still hold so dearly. We had the best first baseman, and well timely hitting by the rest of eight people, secured the victory. Maybe it was Rosann, and Catherine cheering us on that helped us to win the prize. I do extend my condolences to all of Craig’s extended family. Remember the good times always
Bob Bowering

Doreen, Frank, Don, Rosanne, Nicole, Victoria, Sarah, Luke, Beth & Catherine. I am so sorry for your loss. I had the privilege of calling Craig my friend. I was lucky to grow up next door to Craig for the first 17 years of our lives and then go of to MUN for 5 more. We even stayed in residences next door to each other. He couldn’t leave my side. haha Unfortunately, we lost touch over the years as life tends to take us in different directions. It is always hard to lose a friend and loved-one and no words can state these feelings. Craig, I’m sure we will meet again some day and the “Circular Road Gang” will play another game of hockey., softball or fieldball.
