Many thanks to others, your name may not be noted, but your heart knows what you did, or said to our mom.
Our mom and dad operated and worked at several locations of Marty’s Restaurants, then she went on to working at Sears until her retirement.
Mom was a member in the St. Thomas’s Woman Auxiliary, she also did volunteer work with the Church Office, as well as at the Grace Hospital gift shop. Mom was very involved with LOBA, Orange Association, where she held many positions. These included Treasury, Grand Mistress, and Past Grand Mistress. Knitting was her most enjoyable hobby, next to 120’s or 45’s card games.
Mom’s wish was to live long enough to raise her three children. Her wish was granted, then was blessed to also see her five grand children become adults and have their careers. She was doubly blessed.
We would like to thank Dr. Clarke and her assistant Kelly, who both provided mom with excellent care. Also Dr. Kathrine Vardy, who tried so much to ease her back pain. She also took her time to share stories, that mom enjoyed so much. The manager of North Pond Manor, Lolly Noseworthy, and her staff who adopted mom. They all cared for her with such love, support and dignity, she was treated like a queen. Also, the residents of the home who would chuckle at her jokes, funny expressions, and also embraced her and formed a special bond.
On mom’s final day, the staff of North Pond Manor including Cathy and Jennifer, as well as Lori who sang so beautifully to her. The staff did an amazing job at keeping us informed on moms’ condition, making sure everything and everyone was taken care of. The paramedics Leslie and Michelle were absolutely nothing short of wonderful. They were more than qualified persons, who went above and beyond for what mom needed, no or can’t were not in their vocabulary that day. Our friend Constable Si Mones-RE who also did his job wonderfully, overcoming every obstacle presented.

Oh GG, what a long beautiful life. My GG was special. I loved her deeply and I wish I got to see her in person more often. The night before her passing I called my Nana also known as Sharon, my GGs daughter. I always would facetime my nana and every so often nana would be with GG. Well I tell you now, those were some of the best calls. Being able to talk to both my grandma and great grandma was a treat. It is something I will forever hold on to. Being able to talk and have a laugh with my last great grandparent was special. My GG was so loving, she would always bring a smile to faces. I will forever miss her. Fly high GG I love you so much and you will forever be missed. 🕊️🕊️

Your mother looks the same in that picture as she did in Marty’s, Water Street east in the 60’s, when i was a very young child !!! I had many plates of fries in there before my mother and I began shopping ……the full length of Water Street!! I did not realize that the Mrs Kennedy I knew from Barnes Place would be related to her……small world!! Please accept my deepest sympathy on her passing, and remember how lucky you were to have her presence in your life for so long!!
